Redoing my intro post because I've flipped this whole blog upside down:

Hi! 💛 You can call me 2ides. I was previously (mainly) a WTNV blog but have recently branched away from that into BG3.

Pronouns she/her, im 18+ and will sometimes post 18+ things

Main Bg3 ship is Bloodweave, but I have a huge soft spot for Hellspawn/Fireblood. Also really enjoy Shadowzel and Wyllach. Honestly very few ships I have beef with Unless it's inherently abusive like Cazstar.

I also love answering Asks about birds because they're one of my main special interests, and I'll post about birds from time to time. And maybe the occasional Will Wood post.

There's this game coming out on June 17th (I highly suggest checking it out) called Date Everything. The premise is that you have magic glasses that allow you to see everything in your house as humanoid, allowing you to date anything.

ANYWYAS. UH. THE WASHER AND DRYER are in a complicated relationship. But more importantly, they're JUST BLOODWEAVE??? The dryer is even VOICED by NEIL NEWBON.

So as you can tell the birds I drew them as aren't *really* any kind of actual species. BUT

1. Astarion is roughly inspired by the Swallow-Tailed Kite

2. Gale is inspired roughly by the Barred Owl

not to harp on the old man yaoi again but i'm actually obsessed with the old man aspect. like. gale isn't old, really. he's greying a bit but he's not even middle aged. he's just an academic that burnt out in his first job and now may or may not be experiencing a mid life crisis. some people buy sports car, he bought an evil book and accidentally ate an ancient bomb, it happens. astarion, however, is very old. maybe not for an elf but to put it in perspective, if we assume every human lives around 80 years and had a child at 30 then he was already enslaved when gale's great-great-great grandmother was born. and he had a full (albeit short for an elf) life before that even. and most importantly. his only real role model for behaviour was cazador who IS a weird old man. like good god just listen to him speak, he sounds like he was around when withers was still employed. "what do you mean it's no longer legal to summon a swarm of locust on a man who sold you bad copper" is one of top 10 cazador szarr monologues and unfortunately. the fucked up old man vibes are infectous. everyone who's ever hung out with dudes at the hardware store knows that you grab a few beers with them and suddenly youre complaining about the economy and the state of the kids these days. it doesn't matter if astarion hates him, the attitude is still bleeding over. i firmly believe he's out there telling gale how in his days, you had to walk to school uphill both ways in a snowstorm and that he reads newspapers just to be a hater and that he cuts out coupons and haggles with the grocery store clerks because he's unwilling to acknowledge that in the past 2 centuries, inflation has happened. his favourite bard is some guy gale's grandpa listened to when he was young. he refers to the faerun version of beethoven as some young indie upstart and gale gets another existential crisis over the unstoppable passage of time and how little he has of it. astarion (completely immune to passage of time related existential crises btw) has lived long enough to see loser poets get acclaimed post-mortem and yet he still thinks it's a dumb trend that's surely going to pass in like a decade. its something the youth are doing and the youth in question is gale's great great aunt. imagine being an utter nerd and dating someone who's met lord byron in person and the only take away he has from that encounter is that his perfume sucked and his poetry was shit and then he turns the whole topic into how much easier it was to get good quality cotton back in those days, the weavers now don't know what theyre doing. its so crucial astarion's most defining trait in waterdeep isnt "gale's vampire bf" but "gale's bf who lived under a rock". who cares if he eats people, hes off-putting and eccentric in other ways. and gale, who has read too many jane elfsten novels, is entirely into that
