max was happy for you. really he was! despite his usually "don't give a fuck" personality, he genuinely cares about his teammate and only wants you to be in a happy and healthy relationship.
but sometimes he dreads knowing that you will – not if, but will – be sulking when after races both your... loving (read: simps) boyfriends are on the podium. and you aren't... but max is.
he's known you long enough to know that you are probably pouting in your ice bath right now while he's stuck in this press conference with both your boyfriends.
lando and oscar weren't any better, but of course they had to hide it in front of the media. but max isn't stupid, he noticed the way they both lingered when you gave them the usual congratulatory hugs. max usually got one himself too, but he could just tell that the hugs you gave your boyfriends were different.
he's pretty sure that if it wasn't against the rules, you would run him off the road each race in order to get the podium with lando and oscar. doesn't matter if you and max have been friends and teammates for years.
damn, are you a simp as well? probably. max is sure of it.
but again, so are your boyfriends, which is why he's not surprised that the both of them seem to "professionally" run off the second the post-race press conference ends. he knows exactly where the two papaya boys are going.

and when lando and oscar arrive to your motorhome and see you sitting in the single chair, that's exactly what you are doing.
"knock, knock," lando says as he pokes his head in first and catching your attention. you immediately stand up, smile on your face as you meet both males half way.
lando reaches you first and engulfs you into a bone-crushing hug before he's kissing you. lips against yours like they were made to kiss each other, and his hands come to hold your face as yours clutch his undershirt.
"i'm so proud of you both," you say when you finally pull away, breathless. you look over lando's shoulder to see oscar watching the two of you with a soft smile.
you reach a hand out towards the younger male who takes it and allows you to pull him into the hold that you and lando are still in. you can't help but admire oscar as you run a hand through his hair before tugging him even closer to kiss him as well.
you can't help but smile into the kiss when you feel how needy oscar is with his kiss. like he's been waiting for this since he crossed the finish line, and knowing him, he probably has. he doesn't want to admit it, but he's just as needy as you and lando are.
when he pulls away, you can't help but beam up at him. "so proud of you," you whisper again as you look between both mclaren drivers who return your smile.
"so proud of you too, y/n, p4 is amazing," lando says and you look at him, not able to stop the pout from reappearing on your lips.
"hey, don't pout," oscar teases, "you'll get it podium next race."
"i know... but i just hate how i can't beat max in these last few races. he just has to tear us apart," you sigh dramatically, resting your head against oscar's chest.
"that's just how max rolls," lando says, not even hiding the teasing smile he has as his hand rests on your waist. "but like osc said, you'll get podium next race and we'll make sure we're there with you."
"i'll get p1 next race, for sure," you say, making both your boyfriends agree (even if their competitive racer side wanted to disagree).
"are you going to come celebrate with us tonight?" lando asks, eyes hopefully that you'll agree.
"i don't know, it just depends if red bull throws one for max, then i'll have to go to that one," you say and lando is the one the pout this time.
he hates how you are on the opposite team from them, especially the team that is constantly placing podium with them. because if max isn't on the podium (which does happen but is rare) then you are the podium. lando is convinced that people forget that you earned your seat on the red bull team, you proved that you could not only keep up, but also win these races.
fuck, you're so hot, lando thinks and he can't help but pull you against his chest as he looks into your eyes with a type of hunger that makes your heart start to do backflips.
"if you don't come to our party then you'll have to come to our hotel room later to celebrate," he says and you laugh at how serious he looks. you can even feel oscar's chest rumble from against your back as he laughs as well.
"next race when i'm p1, we'll celebrate all night long."

a sudden knock on the door quickly breaks the atmosphere and the three of you are quick to separate from one another.
"come in," you call out and the door opens to reveal max standing in the doorway.
"hey, sorry, but i have to steal my teammate for photos. pr says so," max says as his eyes go from you to the two males standing behind you. he totally knew it, he thinks, if you weren't public figures max was convinced you three would be attached to the hip at all times.
"okay, i'm coming, just give me a minute," you say and max nods saying he'll wait outside before closing the door.
you turn around to look at your two boyfriends one last time before you have to go back out there. "congrats you two on getting podium, i'm proud of you both. i'll try to come to your party later if i can," you say as you give each male one more kiss on the lips before pulling away.
"love you," they both say and you beam before saying it back as you exit the motorhome.
max is waiting outside and gives you a pat on the back as you both walk towards red bull's garage. "you did good today," he says, knowing that while you're happy for him and your boyfriends, you're still upset about your own placement.
"thanks, next time i'm gonna get p1, so watch yourself," you say with a smile and max can't help but grin as well.
"is that so? i'd like to see you try."
"i will because i promised i would get p1, so you can't win. get used to being p4," you proclaim and max can tell that while you have a joking air around you, you're also very serious about it as well.
"whatever, as long as you don't keep sulking every time i get podium with your two lovers. the media is going to start thinking you hate me or something."

I have an immense amount of fear and respect for anyone who regularly drinks energy drinks. Request from @falina1001 - Idk if you saw the interview, but Lando was asked where he keeps his WDC trophy and I thought it was cute to make a little story about them living together for a while and maybe she just got to Monaco and saw all these boxes and Lando told her, he would clean it but doesn’t do it, so she does it herself and finds the trophy and wonders why he hadn’t put up his championship trophy yet

Things had been hectic after Lando won the championship. A lot of travelling for post-season stuff and then he wanted to squeeze a trip somewhere on holiday in so they could travel for a reason beyond work.
However following Christmas they had a brief stint in Monaco where Lando did put his new World Championship trophy box down with his luggage before picking y/n up and making a point to get to bed and after a record breaking quickie, they passed out.
Y/n didn't think much of the untouched trophy case.
In fact she hadn't thought about it at all till Lando had to leave for pre-season stuff and she decided to finally tackle the laundry from their luggage that they'd both been lazily avoiding.
But with Lando busy working she figured a spring clean was perfectly timed.
"Hey, baby. I know I said I'd clean up, but I really don't think I should be touching any of your trophies." Y/n states as she calls Lando.
"Just leave them for me, baby. I'll make sure they're all sorted." Lando states absently, but she takes his word for it. "I miss you. I love being with the team again, but there's not enough you around here."
"I hope you're saying that with an audience so they can here you." Y/n grins since she knows Lando has found a secluded area to sneak away and make his call. He's supposed to be working and focusing, not calling his girlfriend for chats because he misses her.
"They've heard me complaining whenever I get the chance. I got sent out the room to make this call in hopes I'd shut up." Lando confesses earning a grin from the young woman, not that he can see it. But he can practically feel the shameless joy from his girlfriend from the fact he's so obsessed with her.
"Alright, I'm leaving your trophies there. Do not forget about them." Y/n demands earning a huff before someone calls Lando's name. "Tell Will I said hi."
"I will. I love you baby."
"I love you too."

Y/n is pretty damn proud of herself if she's being really honest.
The apartment is sparkling, aside from that one spot where she's piled up the trophy cases that still hold the trophies, the most important one of his career still yet to see daylight.
Lando finds her curled up, hair still damp from her finally post-cleaning shower.
"That's my baby." Lando grins as he moves to lie down with her.
Y/n stirs just enough for Lando to squeeze in and smile as he dips his head down and kisses her before passing out with her body squished under his own.
A couple more weeks pass with Lando admittedly still travelling a lot. But when he's been back for a few days and y/n is now standing glaring at the untouched stack of cases.
"Baby...come back to bed. I need to make sure I leave you all-Why are you mad?" Lando pouts noticing her not giving an inch as he tries to pester her back into the bedroom.
"You promised you'd take care of this." Y/n sighs making Lando pull his lips from her neck to look at what she's complaining about.
"Oh right...I can take care of that later." Lando states managing to entice her back as he aimed for with the veil of another promise.
But the next day the trophies are untouched and y/n begins to wonder if there's more to it than just laziness. Lando rarely, if ever, at this point doesn't do something that y/n asks of him. Especially when it gets to nagging point.
Y/n huffs deciding to wait for Lando to leave the apartment again, unsurprised that the trophy cases are unmoved and untouched. Even starting to gather a noticeable layer of dust.
After a while of thinking on it she decided that these trophies deserve their own place so she ordered a new shelf, which took longer than she cared to admit (including requiring a nap break) to piece together.
She places all 11 race trophies from his wins on the middle shelf, frowning as she takes her time to place them in a nice order. That decision also takes longer than anticipated. But eventually she is happy with them. The few lower podium place trophies he has are sitting on the lower shelf with the medals from his wins hanging off a couple of them before she sucks in a breath taking the world championship trophy, almost trembling as she holds it before placing it on the top with his season and the golden champion helmets either side.
The man loves nothing more than having his helmets on display, they're filling the apartment space more than air. His fans have only had a peek at the collection he has there.
"Y/n..." Lando's voice echoes suddenly making her jump and spin to face him. "Baby, did you really do all this?"
"Well you were never going to get around to it...will still need to find somewhere to store all the boxes but...baby, your trophies deserve daylight and a place at home that isn't out of sight."
Lando smiles moving up to her and kissing her a couple times before turning her so her back is to her chest.
"You've outdone yourself, baby. I'll have to find a way to pay you back."
"A pink Porsche-or McLaren." Y/n grins while Lando rolls his eyes muttering something about pink being a ridiculous colour for a car. But they both know within a couple months on of his parking spaces will be filled with one of the other and he'll probably have whichever isn't in Monaco sitting for her to use at home in the UK. "Why didn't you do this yourself?"
"Honestly baby...I just would rather use the time I get here at home focusing on you or something non-work related." Lando murmurs squeezing his arms around her waist as he sways them side to side. "Maybe I should put you up there. You're one of trophies in life too."
"I know you intended that to be romantic but being a trophy girlfriend and not wife is much more insulting."
"I'll fix that soon." Lando promises with a smirk making her tense up and turn to him. "No promises as to when or how, but I know you'll say yes and I absolutely will be showing you off even more as my trophy wife than as my trophy girlfriend."
"I don't know if that's possible with how much you already insist on showing me off."
"I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Anyway, you made these trophies somehow look ever better than on the podium." Lando sighs then smiling as he nuzzles his face into her neck. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, my amazing, sexy, god-like world champion."
"And people questions where I get my ego from. As if managing to have you in as my girlfriend isn't enough to justify having a huge ego." Lando smirks while y/n laughs shaking her head and rolling her eyes. "I'm going to make a post and give you all credit for it. Actually I think we need you in the picture. The greatest and most valued thing in my life front and centre to all the rest."
And that's how y/n ends up posing in front of the shelves, legs crossed and a blinding smile that Lando decides is going to be his new background on his phone and maybe every devices he has. He might even print the picture for his wallet.
