I cannot believe it's been five years of Sanders sides,,, damn
I even decided to wake up from a REEALLY long tumblr sleep lol
Not much changed since I've been away I still like my babyboy Roman and wanna hug him and protect from all evil
though I still love Chronicles of Narnia the older I get and the more I learn the clearer it becomes to me why it would have driven Tolkien completely insane
The Santa part almost ruined their friendship
Tolkien: you can’t just patch random things together because you like them, everything has to fit together in a dense textural weave of reasonable causes and effects
Lewis: and then the witch from the other dimension turns the fox to stone for having a contraband tea party …
Tolkein is the nerd that complains that characters’ costumes and weapons are impractical and Lewis is the nerd that thinks the designs fuck
Say hello to Tomatoad! Â
One thing I don’t get about exclusionist ~concerns~ about the ace community is the whole “but what if a lesbian misidentifies as ace?”
Honestly, if identifying as ace stops a gay girl from forcing herself into uncomfortable situations with men that she will most likely regret later, than that’s a good thing? At least she’s started questioning her assumptions about her own straightness, which is at least a step in the right direction. If given the right information and support network, she will eventually reach the right conclusion. Questioning is a personal journey and no one has all the right answers for anyone else.
Also, why aren’t you just as concerned for non-lesbian ace women who misidentify as lesbians (which is definitely a thing that happens)? Why is this the worst thing ever when it happens to a gay person, but for everyone else it’s whatever?
Hi I’m a lesbian who first mis-identified as aro, and you know what?
Thinking I was aromantic and having the support of the aro/ace communities were the thing that made it possible for me to even THINK that me liking women could be okay, and good, and not just something disgusting in the first place. I’m not sure where I would be today if I hadn’t been aro for a few months.
And I promise you, it didn’t hurt.
Hi I’m a bisexual who first mis-identified as ace, and you know what?
Can fully second the above. Being part of the a-spec community was my first introduction to the larger LGBT+ community, which led to me thinking about my own sexuality in a way that didn’t identify heterosexual as the “neutral” or “normal,” and I probably would never have identified as bisexual (or at least done so much later) if it wasn’t for the welcoming from the a-spec community.
I will always feel an affinity toward the a-spec community for the welcome they showed me, and the support they continued to offer as I discovered myself. I will remain an active ally of their community for the rest of my life.
A lot of exclusionists seem to be under the impression that people can’t change their identities as they learn more about themselves. When you read through a lot of their blogs they seem to be under the impression that the evil aro/aces are telling children that they’re gonna be asexual forever and they’re not gay. Ooohhh scary.
But if exclusionists would actually talk to ace and/or aro people they’d discover that most of us are all about exploring your own identity and in fact a lot of us used to think we were something else. I used to think I was bisexual before I figured out I was actually a gay ace. I don’t see exclusionists trying to jump in for ace people that misidentified ourselves at first. If they actually cared and weren’t just aphobic they’d probably bring up that part as well.
this post hasn't left my mind since i've first saw it
people jest but this is literally how i worked out i was gaslit for like 15 years of my life
People who “want trauma” are recognizing, on some level, that they were traumatized but in a way that’s not “socially recognized” as trauma. What they really want is for people to see that they’ve been traumatized and be on their side
Reblog if you understand and won’t get mad if a fanfic writer discontinues a series they’re writing for ANY reason

Since it’z going around again PLEAZE do not use thiz flag
It’z the mlm flag but really it’z a recolor or the lesbian flag
So I’m asking you to pleaze use a different flag or make your own! I’m literally saying thiz az a mlm
Along with the lesbophobia behind this flag I’d also like to add that the one pictured above was popularized, but not made by, an extremely transphobic cis truscum (discourse-king) who I’ve personally had many run-ins with. And the popular other versions I’ve seen purposed are just the same thing with only slight variation in shades. Example below.
Im not saying that the flag itself is necessarily transphobic but as a gnc trans man it makes me very uncomfortable to see my gay brothers using it.
Hey remember when discourse-king made a truscum caricature with trans woc
hey! quick note but this flag
is made by @gayflagblog and is NOT just a shade chage there are actual meanings in the stripes
Op has a post here on it but please do not equate this flag with the one popularized by a truscum or act like its just a change in the shades op put actual research into the stripes they said
For real guys, read the meanings of the flag by @gayflagblog! It’s beautiful quite frankly.
Top Tips for Clues, Red Herrings, and Breadcrumbs
One of the most important parts of writing MYSTERY is figuring out what to do with clues and red herrings - and how to use them effectively. Here’s some advice that’s never steered me wrong:Â
Hide the real clue before the false ones! Most people, so by extent your readers and your sleuth, tend to focus on the last piece of information presented to them. A good strategy is to mention/show your real clue and then quickly shift focus.Â
Do a clue cluster! Squeeze your real clue in among a whole pile of red herrings or other clues, effectively hiding it in plain sight. This works especially well with multiple suspect mysteries.Â
Struggling to think of what a clue could be? Try this list:Â
Physical objects: Letters, notes, tickets, emails, keepsakes, text messages, diaries, etc.Â
Dialogue: voicemail recordings, overheard conversations, hearsay, gossip, rumours. All of these can hold grains of truth!Â
Red herrings distract and confound your protagonist and your reader, so you should be careful not to overuse them. Well balanced, red herrings should lead your characters down false paths to create confusion, tension, and suspense.
Contradictions! Have characters claim they did so-and-so at such-and-such a time, but other characters have evidence that contradicts this.
Balance! Avoid a clue that’s so obvious it’s like a neon sign saying “Look at me, I’m a clue!” but don’t make it so obscure it’ll be missed entirely. A good clue should leave a reader saying “Damn, I should have noticed that”Â
