Can I just go on an unhinged rant about how GREAT Yamcha is?
Even on his first entrance to fight Goku, he just radiates pure badassery. He's not just an incredible martial artist, he's also a skilled swordsman, with an awesome looking sword to boot! Move over Trunks, your sword has nothing on this blade!
He was so skilled and strong that not only did he manage to hold his own against Goku and his Power Pole...
He actually kinda kicked his ass! He was able to smash him through a bunch of columns and keep him down for a good while. The only thing that kept him from winning was Bulma triggering his crippling fear of girls.
He's shown capable of learning Kaioken (at least in the games), it takes a lot of intense training to be able to use it, let alone without it wrecking your body, so the fact he was able to use it at all is impressive!
He's one of the only other pure humans, aside from Krillin and Master Roshi, to be able to use the Kamehameha Wave at a young age, let alone on his first try! I know this doesn't sound very impressive considering how often we see it, but remember, Master Roshi was lucky enough to use it after practicing for 50 YEARS! Yamcha did it on his first try!
He doesn't only copy moves, he makes up his own as well! His Spirit Ball is especially impressive, a attack made of pure Spirit Energy, not Ki. He's able to move and fling it around in whatever direction he wants, even if it's through the ground! It literally will not stop until it hits it's target. In fact it's one of, if not the only, attack to ever consistently hit it's target or fulfill it's intended purpose!
Look at him destroying all these gigantic pieces of rubble with ease! Nothing but a cake walk for our man.
He's also tough as hell, he was able to survive 300x the Earth's gravity, which by all means should've squashed him like a bug. But he pushed through it like a champ!
This massive blast that Goku made was from when he played Baseball with literal GODS. And he SURVIVED. I mean he wasn't directly hit by it, but considering how he wasn't within the Angels' protective barrier, and how this blast is way, way bigger than a baseball field, there's no way he wasn't affected by it. He was in the middle of all of this and lived! Stuck in a bush, but alive!
Hell he was complimented and even flirted with by Frieza, not once, but twice! You know, Frieza, the murderous tyrant that pops planets like pimples? How many characters do you know who can say that?
Even the DBS manga he's proven his value, not only did mop the floor with Moro's men, but he also held his own against Zauyogi, one of Moro's top dogs. You know, Moro, the guy who cored Super Saiyan God Goku like a fucking apple?
He did all of this, and remember, he's just a human. He's not some mutant with special powers, or an android designed to kill, or the child of a demon king, or an alien species that are just biologically overpowered. He's just a human, as human as you or me.
Yamcha is not weak by ANY means. It's a shame that an unfunny meme about him dying completely ruined a once skilled and competent character. Man was killed, lost his girlfriend to the guy who killed him, and is treated as a pathetic joke by the fanbase and even his own creators.
My man deserves some respect on his name.
