everything is so different now... where do I start?

so turns out most of my mutuals aren't active anymore (not sure what I expected there but if you're seeing this, hi! hope you're kickin ass) seems a lot of people left around the same time I did or in 2018 (hello tumblr porn purge - how did I miss that??)

tumblr live is a thing??? I haven't seen it personally but maybe that's something I'm too european to understand, but the "for you" section is new n I'm not sure how to feel about it

and going through some of my old messages n stuff feels like I'm looking at someone else's blog. I used to be SO involved in everything - I had friends on here, I created stuff, I freely added my opinions... maybe after a while back that might be the case but so much has changed for both myself and on here that idk if that level of involvement is attainable for me anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so uhhhh yeah... guess I've gotta rediscover tumblr and what imma do now I'm back

i know we've been saying this about every new shitty update but i feel like removing reblog chains could really be the thing to kill this site. like that is literally the main thing that makes tumblr unique

truly the only reason you still see tumblr posts reposted constantly on other sites which claim tumblr to be "dead" is because of our unique form of collaborative posting. also you would not only be taking away what makes the site unique but also the main form of socialization between the users which yknow. some could say is the basis for your whole fucking social media website

so I believe it was actually more complicated than that, in interesting ways. Because at first, when they did blind auditions, they were STILL hiring more men.

…Then they put down a carpet, so that high heels didn’t clack on the floor,  and BOOM women were suddenly getting hired.

The testers didn’t even know that’s what they were picking up on, which just goes to show how tiny of a cue it takes for misogyny to kick in.
