Things people call me that get others confused
-Lena
my name is in fact not Lena, it’s Elena, I’m Russian so it’s pronounced something like ‘ye-lena’, most people give up on the pronunciation after I correct them enough times, so it’s mostly just ‘lena’. I don’t mind, in Russian Elena and Lena are the same thing
-Nell/Nellie
this one confuses a lot of people, I’ve met people that genuinely thought my name was Nell and my middle name Elena ( I don’t have a middle name ), I don’t know who first started calling me Nell, but I believe it was brought to life through having ‘Lena’ subtracting the a, and turning it around, then you get ‘Nell’. A lot of people call me Nell, it’s nothing really special.

barely anyone calls me this, but there is a few people, started out when I met a boy, the class was loud and I was asking if he needed help with Latin, since his translation was frankly terrible, he said yes, said ‘you’re Lena, right?’, I said, ‘no, my name’s Elena.’, he misheard, and thought is was Lexi. Although, I have a friend named Lexi, so most people only use it when we’re talking one on one.

I have no idea where this stems from, my one friend just started calling me that. People were confused for a while, but nobody uses it since said friend died.
-Luna
Again, somebody misheard, though my name was Luna, it went on like this for a while, because I never bothered to correct her, I figured she was messing around, since after I told her my actually name, she smiled and said ‘okay, Luna’, I figured she was joking. Turns out she was genuinely clueless.
-Ally/Al
it started out as ‘al’, then turned into ally, only two people call me this tho, it gets people confused a lot, it’s the name people usually assume I have most, after Nell, of course.
-Lala
A boy in kindergarten used to call me lala, I believe it was because he was so bad at pronouncing specific letters and words, he just stuck to lala. Some boys call me lala to tease him, it gets others confused sometimes.
-Lele
A few people call me that, like 3, people usually assume my name is ‘Lea’, I’ve had people say to me ‘you don’t look like a Lea’ and I had to explain that that isn’t even my name
-Lulu
Stems from Luna, the girl that thought my name was Luna introduced me to her friends, who had heard about me before, just under the name ‘Luna’, all of them still call me lulu.
-Baby
I had a friend, he used to call me ‘baby’, like the pet name. I hated his guts. Everybody thought we were dating, we weren’t. Although he spoiled me rotten with gifts, I even got myself a Chanel perfume on his card.
-Stepanov
Only really one person calls me this, she usually says it when I tell her about my hallucinations, like ‘okay, stepanov’, she says it because of the actor, Vasiliy Stepanov, I find him relatable in a lot of ways, so that’s where it stems from. Some people think it’s my last name, but it’s not.
