I have every word ever blocked. I could be mutuals with axe murderers and I wouldn't know because I have "#axe murdering" in my blocked tags. it's so peaceful here (hears a noise behind me) (doesn't turn around)

must feel good as fuck to curse a prince for being rude to you while you were larping as an old woman for no reason

I can’t remember if I told you guys this but my grandpa paid a guy to put up a rock retaining wall in the backyard when my grandparents moved into their house in 1966. They live at the bottom of a mountain. The wall finally collapsed this year and my grandfather with dementia was PISSED OFFFFFF and he wanted so badly to call the guy who did it and chew him out for doing a bad job. My grandma is trying to explain that the wall lasted 60 years and the guy who did the work is probably dead and it TURNS OUT HE IS STILL ALIVE. Now we’re worried grandpa is going to get through to him (small town) and we’re going to see two 85 year old men come to blows over a rock wall that has been there since the mid-60s. My grandpa is a scrapper, he’s been to jail over a bar fight, the possibility that he WOULD fight this guy is high.
To top it off? The stone mason is the only person in town with one arm so grandpa would definitely recognize him if he saw him. If that is your grandpa, please protect him from my grandpa.
Then again, if it was given a lifetime guarantee and both parties are still alive, grandpa might have ground to stand on.
worry about it kitten daddy fucked up
Discourse about the blood scene aside, the real trouble with the Goncharov television edit is that they decided most of the watch/clock scenes were expendable filler to get it into the time slot or cut out for commercials, which really kind of kills the slow build up to the eventual payoff on the themes about mortality.
Like it still technically makes sense because everyone obviously knows mortality is a thing, but it doesn't have room to breathe. You lose the nebulous, ever-building sense of dread from the actual ticking of the clocks, and the tension rising as the audience knows it's all going somewhere, and yet much like the characters overlook the obvious answer that the "somewhere" is just death, until oh yeah. That's where it was going, and sooner or later that's where we're all going.
It also makes the few times they keep the clocks in just kind of random.
Like I get that for some people it's the only version of Goncharov they know so it's the one they want, and I don't disapprove of internet archive having that version, but even though it's shorter I really wouldn't recommend it for someone's first watch of the film. If you have trouble with the runtime of the director's cut, go for the original theatrical release instead.
I think that it’s the opposite actually.
Like. For people who grew up on the original theatrical release, it’s worse.
It’s not just the clocks ticking as a sign of the impending mortality, the slow build to the end, the utter inevitability of it. Death was coming. It couldn’t be stopped, not by Katya, not by anyone.
But CUTTING the clocks, the jarring juxtaposition of the end that is rushing ever closer, with every last commercial and break, and the silence that comes with the end.
I don’t know, it feels more tragic, to me. And especially with the event of the ability to pause and record, to hold on for just a little longer. Extend the silence, extend the life; hold on for one more minute.
if you vote me for president i vow to make everything the ocean again. no more land only ocean. this will solve all of our problems and replace them with new, far more interesting problems
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
Was driving with my grandmother and in broken English she says “no eyes… no nose… no face. Don’t trust.” To which I looked around wildly in search of this omen of ill portend.
Cybertruck. It was a cybertruck.

saw a post about this earlier but it made me think: tumblr really is the only social media site where I go on and have a good time and then carry on with my day. I know it's completely curated because there are some awful people here but that (the curation) in itself is a privilege of the site. Every other social media site is designed to make you angry for more engagement
