March 25, 2023 More of Sedona, did some knee high river/creek crossings, amazing views, and made sure our last ride was our longest yet. Rented the Juliana Furtado, a mullet ride, 29’ in the front, 27.5’ in the back. I desperately wanted to love her but it wasn’t the one. I couldn’t clear nearly as much ascents because I kept hitting my pedals, the seat was noticeably uncomfortable, and the flip switch shocks was difficult for me to get used to. I did love how light she was and how I flew down Canyon of Fools! March 24, 2023 Said goodbye to the friends and Moab, Utah, and drove through sun, snow, hail, clouds and rerouted to get to Sedona, Arizona. Same but different riding terrain, totally well worth the 6.5 hour drive here. Demo’d the Pivot Trail 429, with those 29’ wheels. She’s a heavier bike with wider and thicker handlebars than I’m used to but the smooth downhills make for fun rolling ledges and steps and chunky bits and the uphill I’m able to climb over and floss through most of the ascents. Leroy and I hosted a little karaoke dinner party with the new friends we made from spin class. The row house hasn’t seen that many people at once for years, it was nice to be hosting again. I am def my parents’ daughter, fretting there won’t be enough food, then pulling out old take out containers to send everyone home with leftovers.
