genuinely the funniest news headline ive ever seen
it's so refreshing getting world news that isn't an immediate threat to anyone's life or just otherwise depressing. this is what world news should be. a big ole boat drew a penis and then got stuck in a canal and now a sizable chunk of world trade has ground to a halt. wonderful. this costs me nothing
I have been informed that this is in fact⊠one of Them
This is the funniest fucking post on this website

backwards trope you fake breakup and realise maybe this is better
arranged divorce
you have increasingly terrible visits to a coffee shop centered on interactions with one barista until eventually one of you snaps and kills the other and one of the other baristas throws their hands in the air and says FINALLY i thought you guys would never figure it out
you are snowed out. you die of hypothermia
Enemies to angrier enemies.
There are so many beds
My ancestors, watching me dump an entire stick of cinnamon, two cloves, an allspice berry, and a generous grating of nutmeg into my tea, sweetened with white sugar and loaded with cream, while I sit in my clean warm house surrounded by books, 25+ outfits for different occasions, and 6 pairs of shoes, in a building heated so well I have the windows open in mid-autumn:
Our daughter prospers. We are proud of her. She has never labored in a field but knows riches we could not have imagined.
I like this so much better than the idea that our ancestors would be embarrassed or ashamed of us for being âsoftâ or some crap like that.
My ancestors, watching me stuff my face with fried chicken while studying: She eats like an imperial concubine and can afford to study like am imperial scholar. WE MADE IT
Now I crave a post apocalypse fic where outraged ancestors are absolutely determined that sliding into âthe dark agesâ not happen. They are on hand a) explaining how to do things without electricity b) scolding uncooperative descendants (like survivalist assholes who keep shooting at people). c) otherwise being very supportive while possibly telling horror stories of the past

Managers really are evil arenât they?
Love the paranoia inherit in interpreting any unmonitered conversations among your employees as potential threats.
If you were confused where the capitalists stand âknowing your rightsâ is a threatening buzz word to them.Â
Iâm a union member. From a union family. My grandmother and mother both worked in and for the same Union. My first job as a teen was working as a truck packer for fedex. Non-union. The new hire orientation was a half hour of class time. 15 minutes on all of our duties and safety procedures and everything. Then a 15 minute video on why unions were bad. At 19 I knew a fair amount about unions having been to many picket lines with my grandmother and mother. I took notes on âthe evils the unionâ when the instructor came back he asked us if we had any questions. I commenced to asking him about 10 minutes worth of questions picking about the âevilsâ the union represent. Before I was even allowed on the floor for my first shift I was called into the floor managers office. They did not appreciateïżŒ when I pulled my phone out to record our conversation. Long story short I was let go before my first shift and had to threaten legal action (because Iâm just that petty) to get them to pay me for the time I was there âemployedâ.
Mangers donât like when you have even an inkling of your rights and a union enforces those rights for workers.
Masha The Hero
They forgot the part where the ambulance actually stopped to let the cat in
oh good I was worried
What a good cat. What a kind cat. How can anyone not love cats they are so good and loving.
they also forgot the part where they only found the baby because masha was screaming her head off bc she knew this baby was in danger. she went around outside the alley the next morning and yelled at passerby until she got one to follow her to the baby. she kept him warm all night and then made sure someone found him. she was adopted after this bc she was a stray and is in a loving home and is a hero
Hero cat
Thank you, Masha, youâre such a good girl.
See.
Kittens canât regulate their own body temperature. Thatâs why they pile up.
Cats see us as colony members.
Masha saw a kitten that was on its own, no mommy, no other kittens to cuddle with. She instinctively knew that was a cold kitten. She knew that a kitten alone on a cold night was very likely to die. Because a kitten would have died too.
So, all she was doing was what any good colony member does - protecting the abandoned kitten. Then when the abandoned kittenâs mommy didnât come back, she called the rest of the colony for help.
People have this bizarre idea that housecats donât have a social sense. They do, and it saved this kidâs life. And possibly Mashaâs too, as life on the streets is dangerous for a kitty.
We say âgood dogâ all the time, but Masha was being a very, very good catâŠnot just by human moral standards but by feline ones.
Okay but itâs even better because adult cats donât meow at each other. Thatâs a vocalization theyâve specifically adopted to communicate with people.
Masha didnât just see a kitten and save it, she knew it was a human baby and protected it until she could ask other humans if they knew where this oneâs mother was (cats will attempt to find the mother of an unattended litter of kittens and if the mother canât be found will usually care for them as best they can themselves).
Cats in colonies are also communal caregivers so when the medics took the human kitten Masha was basically running after them going âHey! Donât forget me! He needs his Aunt Masha!â
Animals that will care for members of another species despite understanding theyâre a different species are amazing.
