𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐇𝐈𝐌 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑, in any other circumstance ; fortunately the one that had befallen her was an usual malaise that had plagued him at her age ( if he had ever truly lived, at her age ) , and the discomfort is one that comes with familiarity in the stead of empathy. it is silent, even when she reclines on the sofa she had usually nestled in during her visits, and he goes to fill up a pitcher of water for her to drink from in some resigned form that he could never use the glass until he had washed it by her leave.

𝐒𝐇𝐄'𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑.          likely should have stayed in bed from the moment she woke ,  but the giry spirit compells her to ignore all feelings of malcontent and push on.   any discomfort is to be compartmentalized and neglected in favour of continuing with work.   it’s a habit she’s picked up from her mother and one that can only result in feeling worse and worse until they cannot physically function.   it is the giry way.   unfortunately the giry way has left her abandoning all hope of her studies at the library and catching the next bus to the home of her designated guardian.

'   𝐈  𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐄𝐃  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍  𝐈  𝐋𝐄𝐅𝐓  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐘  𝐁𝐔𝐓  𝐒𝐇𝐄  𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍'𝐓  𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖  𝐈  𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄  𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄.   '          she manages to croak from her curled up fetal position on her corner of the couch.   as usual ,  her immune system has completely given up and put her on her backside.   she gratefully accepts the glass of water he decants and hands to her ,  although somewhat unenthusiastically.   likely trying to avoid catching whatever plague she’s unceremoniously brought into her home.   ayesha ,  sensing meg’s discomfort ,  has chosen to increase said discomfort by making herself a home on meg’s legs.
