Writeblr Introduction
Not this thing chilling in my drafts since forever.
I’ve been around for about three years now (give or take) and it’s just occurred to me that I’ve never done this intro thing before, so here goes nothing.
Howdy. I’m Gemini Jones (I know it’s a strange pseudonym, just…humour me, I guess).
Queer. POC. Pronouns are in a constant flux, but she/her should be mostly okay. Younger than I look, older than I seem. If I’m not writing, I’m reading, and if I’m not reading, I’m usually procrastinating on my writing. It’s a vicious cycle, really.
While fantasy is my go-to, I write in (and read) just about every genre under the sun. Horror, surrealism, dieselpunk, mystery, noir, literary, dark academia, you name it.
Before I forget, here’s a rundown of all of my current projects. Hopefully, most of these will have WIP intro pages soon.
They Called Him Holy. Supernatural/political court intrigue fantasy about an exiled prince’s return home for his father’s funeral and all that that entails. Lovers to enemies, dysfunctional family drama, murder, and ghosts. Lots of ghosts. Read it for the ghosts. (#tchh)
The Castles Are Burning. Surrealistic dark fantasy. Follows a traveling circus on their tour across a country at the brink of war. Takes place in the same secondary world as They Called Him Holy.
When We Were Eternal. Two detectives decide to solve a missing persons case against their superior’s wishes and uncover a conspiracy that incriminates their city’s political institutions. Routine performances by elves, gang wars, and systemic corruption. Dark fantasy, diesel-noir, enemies-to-lovers-to-it’s-complicated. A novella.
All That Was Sacred. Post-apocalyptic dieselpunk dystopia with dark academia elements. Centers around a group of media and communication majors that get on the bad side of the government when they publicly broadcast their radical opinions on the radio for the entire city to hear.
The Wolf Eaters. Dark fantasy. Political upheaval. Eldritch creatures. Ritual sacrifice. All the goodies.
Always down to connect with other likeminded writeblrs. I walk that fine line between shy and obnoxious, so just pop into my dms or my ask box whenever if you wanna say hi. No pressure or anything.
