You know, it's kinda crazy how much right-wingers get mad about people getting GAS and yet they'll easily roll into liposuction when it's too obvious that they love chicken tenders, steak, and sweet tea. They get mad about trans people getting hormones, but they'll take chemicals to help them achieve their chairs weight limit. And the only fucking time they give a flying fuck about mental health is to call queers "mentally ill". You know what, yeah, some are mentally ill thanks to you douchebags! They love to point at the problem (in this case, trans people with mental health struggles), erroneously use transitivity (the irony is not lost on me) to generalize it to all members of that group ("If OnE tRaNs PeRsOn Is StRuGgLiNg, ThEn ThEy ArE aLl MeNtAlLy IlL!"), and do abso-fucking-lutely nothing to help (conversation therapy isn't therapy, its torture)

keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it's immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like "yeah so this is going to happen to the internet" and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don't even get paid for it

Misogyny is a major factor in the plummeting birth rate in the USA, not the only factor but a major contributing factor. Conservatives blame feminism when it is the extreme wave of reactionary misogyny making women rethink motherhood. This is a common refrain from a lot of childfree women, if they just listened to them, but they won’t.
