So, you think you want to be a sex worker.
“how do I get started?”, “where should I sell?”, “how do I take good nudes?”
These questions are asked daily so now you have a handy FAQ that will be updated regularly to read instead!!
1) Is sex work worth the risk? Aren’t you worried your family will find out?
I make sure not to care. Because if you care, this aint the line of work for you. As for the risk? I personally believe yes, it is.
I make my hours, and how much work I put in directly affects how much I get back.
*************************
Honestly, I believed right from the getgo, and still believe that no one should get into sex work unless they are prepared for the possibility of their friends/family/ect. finding out.
*************************
For me the risk is very worth it. I’m doing work I love and am good at. When you enter this industry you just have to accept that your loved ones will find out and be prepared. I’ve come to terms with the inevitable and understand that some of my family will not understand right away.
*************************
If you are looking for quick and easy cash? Then no. If you follow swers on social media and want to do it on a whim? No. But if you are willing to hussle, put the effort in and advertise? It can be. My family already know. we just moved on with our lives and that makes me verry lucky. Weigh the pros and cons, don’t just jump in.
2) Should I show my face?
I only show my face for my premium members
*************************
Weigh risk/benefit. Risk: Someone you know may find out, now or in the future looking for jobs. Sex work is stigmatized. Benefit: In my opinion, you will sell wayyy more. If you want, start without showing your face as you test the waters and see how you can do without it, you can always show your face later (and make a big deal/exciting reveal out of it!)
*************************
Part of the appeal of camming is making a human connection with someone doing naughty things. To me not showing your face is taking away the human part of you and becoming nothing more than a sexy body - which is a totally fine approach. Many cam models never show their face. But if you want to go far in this industry you have to let your personality shine.
*************************
If you have anything distinctive about yourself that you feel is recognizable, such as tattoos etc, then you might as well be posting your face! That’s why I started showing mine. Now I feel like anything with my face is framed better, sells better and is better received.
*************************
I only show my face for paying customers, in custom videos/photo’s and on my VIP snapchat. I personally think it adds a layer of mystery and makes customers curious which is responsible for most of my sales!
3) How do I take good nudes?
Natural lighting is your friend my guy. It shows when you are, or arent feeling taking the photo, trust me.
*************************
The biggest thing I try to focus on is variety. A lot of people subscribe for the variety and don’t want the same thing over and over, and posing is a big part of that
*************************
Proper lighting, proper angles, bluetooth remotes, selfie sticks, phone stands, and timers. Know what looks best on your body/face. And do what makes you comfortable. Don’t feel obligated to post things you don’t like.
*************************
Angles and lighting are key. I suggest getting a Bluetooth clicker. They aren’t expensive at all and make a huge difference. Always make sure you’re in good light because no one wants to see dark and blurry nudes.
*************************
Walk away from your camera. When you’re holding it, there’s only so many variations of a photo you can take. Invest in a self timer/bluetooth clicker. Take hundreds of photos, move, pose, smile, laugh and then look at what you’ve gotten!
4) I can’t afford lingerie and sex toys. Can I still be a sex worker?
My first few months of income has gone right back into my buisness. So yes, you can start with nothing, but these are certainly things to invest in! // be creative! “sex toys” is pretty broad! I got started with a $5 pack of clothes pins and worked my way up from there.
*************************
There are tons of models that cam in regular underwear and a t-shirt. There’s definitely a market for that. Lingerie and toys will come as you get regulars who want to see you wearing or using specific things. You’d be surprised how many people will drop a few bucks to get you something nice. Don’t be afraid to make an Amazon wishlist. Short answer is - YES. You can cam just fine without fancy lingerie and toys.
*************************
Absolutely. You don’t need to have all the toys in the world. As you progress you can kit yourself out but as a baby sex worker, your hands are more than enough. If you want to use household items, please remember safety first and use condoms!!
5) How can I get more followers?
Be active! Also, submitting to blogs to get your stuff out there is super important!
*************************
The biggest gain I’ve ever had in my tumblr following - and I’ve been on it since about 2012 or 2011 - was from joining the bbbabes and having my content regularly shared by other babes with bigger followings. That seems to be the best way to garner a following: submitting to trustworthy blogs with big followings and being reblogged by blogs with big followings.
6) What tags should I use?
Do your best to stay up to date with which blogs arent that great (like prayforbooty) but otherwise your first few should be for reblogs like “notsforw” or “peachyyypeople” that kinda thing.
*************************
DDLG is a good major tag that gets a lot of traffic as are sex worker and sugar baby.
*************************
I tag submission blogs, such as “cynegetic”, “dreamsofelysium” and “watchthebabes” (there’s loads of blogs you can tag) and then add “#sexworker”, “#cute porn” etc too
7) How do you get started?
Make sure you at least know a little before you dive in, because trust me. its super easy to get overwhelmed.
*************************
I got started on tumblr, before I had a free promo snapchat! But I got buyers much faster once I got a promo snap, so that’s probably better to do from the getgo.
*************************
Posting consistently on the social media of your choosing - Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, ManyVids, cam or stream sites, etc. all included. Using appropriate tags on relevant media sites. Reposting content of other people with bigger followings. Joining supportive groups such as bbbabes. Following and being followed by other sex workers.
*************************
It’s as easy as signing up for a cam site and planning your first show. For me I took it a step further and built up anticipation for my first show. I made a Twitter and planned my first show to be in a week. I contacted all the promoters I could and made friends. Then all I had to do was build up followers, let people get to know me, build up hype, and plan on making my first show fun. Definitely try to plan activities and goals ahead of time. Your show will be boring for you and your audience if you only plan to sit in front of the camera half naked and waiting for people to talk to you.
8) What cam sites are good?
I do mfc occasionally. It’s decent, but a ton of work. Private chats are pretty much the only way to make decent money, so I’ve moved away from camming except private skype shows.
*************************
There are so many cam sites to pick from. It really depends on you. How often will you cam, are you more about chatting or sexy stuff, etc. For example, Chaturbate is good for starting out and if you plan to cam casually. Myfreecams is good for models who can cam often and aren’t afraid to be ranked heavily.
9) How can I keep my customers interested?
Be you. They pay for YOU, just be you.
*************************
Be aware not just of doing different kinks or content, but also different angles, outfits, settings, ect. Mixing it up seems to be something that buyers really appreciate. It can also help find new potential members!
*************************
Always try new things but don’t sacrifice your own enjoyment for novelty. Your audience will have fun if you have fun.
*************************
If you’re worried that your act has gotten stale, ask them!! Get them involved with the type of content they are going to be seeing.
10) Should I interact with my customers every day?
Its not so bad when you have 10, but can you keep up with 300 people every day?
*************************
I post daily, but don’t interact with my snapchat buyers much beyond that! I ask stuff sometimes but honestly my members are all pretty quiet.
*************************
That really depends on you. Some models keep their cam life and personal life separate - only speaking to regulars on cam. Models like me interact with my fans all day everyday. It’s very time consuming. But there are lots of different styles.
*************************
I post daily on my premium Snapchat but I only reply to messages when I have the time/want to. I try to chat to everyone on a weekly/bi-weekly basis
11) What are the best payment options?
Bitcoin is the most secure, but very few people use it. I have it listed as my preferred payment everywhere and none of my buyers have taken me up on it. Other than that amazon giftcard is safe, but very limited.
*************************
What works best for me is gift cards, Circlepay, Squarecash, or exchanging various things for my membership like purchases from my ManyVids or wishlist. I also use Fancentro as well but don’t recommend it unless you know for sure you’ll be able to make the payouts.
*************************
Avoid Paypal for sure. I use Square Cash, Google Wallet, and Amazon Gift Cards. Just make sure they aren’t writing anything in the notes that makes it clear the payment is for sex work. I don’t know of any cash service that is sex work friendly. Use what you’re comfortable with and be careful. These 3 methods work for me and haven’t been shut down at all in almost 2 years.
*************************
I sell exclusively through verified and secure sites so my income is deposited directly into my bank account. You don’t get much safer than that
12) What are the best sites for selling photosets?
Selling photosets directly is the most profitable option using whatever payment options work best for you. Otherwise, ManyVids is the main one that I know of.
*************************
I’m just recently getting into photosets. I’ve used Chaturbate, MFC Share, and Manyvids. Chaturbate and MFC Share are nice and easy for selling Photosets. Manyvids is fine but it just appears with all your other store items. Chaturbate is made to sell videos and photosets right below your live cam. And MFC Share is convenient because you can make collections.
*************************
MFC, Extralunchmoney and manyvids have a great set up for photosets
13) How should I run my snap and keep track of who is and isn’t paying?
Spreadsheets, and name change. For montly I put the date of when they paid, and for lifetime, I put lifetime. Makes it suuuper simple for me and Im forgetful as hell
*************************
I have monthly, yearly, and permanent subscriptions I just track in a google doc. Right now I only have yearly and permanent members so it’s fairly easy.
*************************
Some use emojis to differentiate, some use labels. If you run your snap to specifically weed out freeloaders, then I would recommend typing out a message to send en masse that requires a response to determine if they are or not. I label sex workers with “SW” and have begun adding everyone who adds me and prefixing their name with the date a month from when I added them.
*************************
Easiest way to do this is offer lifetime snap. Not all models like doing that but it will get you more purchases and make less work for you. I offer a 1 month trial and lifetime only. I keep track with a spreadsheet that lists their Snap username, purchase method, and if they are in a trial period I list their expiration. On top of that I edit their display name in Snapchat with the expiration.
*************************
If you have a public snapchat to entice/find customers, use a seperate account. If you have everything on the one, if your public gets deleted, so does your premium. Keep your paid customers together on one.
14) What tags should I use on Twitter to get noticed?
Relevant tags to the content but always NSFW. I use sugarbaby, sugardaddy, sexwork, sexworker, snapsforsale, snapchat, onlinesw, manyvids.
*************************
I suggest hunting down promoters and following the promoters they tag. Promoters almost always tag other promoters. Also tag whatever site you are using.
*************************
There are tonnes of promoters out there!! Just @ them and they should retweet you!
15) Do hash tags on Twitter even make a difference?
Yes! It increases the number of impressions you have in a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
*************************
If there is another way to get exposure the answer is ALWAYS do it. I don’t go too crazy with hashtags on Twitter, but on Instagram I use whatever is applicable to me. Also make sure you pay attention to trending hashtags, hashtags of the sites you use, and hashtags of the promoters you follow.
16) What are some good/cheap video editing softwares I can use?
I use Vegas to edit my video and can link to the video I used to download it if necessary! If it doesn’t require much editing at all, then the video editing software that comes with the computer should hopefully be sufficient enough.
*************************
Movie maker is pretty good!!

HitFilm or Lightworks are my go to programmes!
