🐺 Ibis [London]Published for the British Ornithologists’ Union by Academic Press. Original source Image description: Historical illustration of two small passerine birds, Passer Moabiticus, perched on a thorny branch. The bird on the left has open beak, displaying a black bib and detailed brown, yellow, and gray feather patterns. The bird on the right faces forward, showing a round head, subtle brown and gray tones, and light underparts. The plate is labeled “Ibis 1867. Pl. VII,” with the artist J. Wolf noted, and printed by M&N Hanhart. Despite the keyword “wolf,” the focus is on the ornithological subjects, not wolves.
