I’m lou-dalou!

I’m a college student who likes to pull out my sketchbook whenever I get the chance. I don’t post much of my art (traditional or otherwise), and I don’t use my art side account @lou-da-lou-tradish bc of time and lack of interest from others. I might post on there once in a blue moon. maybe.

most of my main account is transformers stuff (there’s lots of jazz & prowl, my beloveds <3) and a bit of TMNT (2012 Raph and rise Leo and Mikey are my faves) and sonic the hedgehog.

the only other thing is unnaturals, which is a fantasy story I’ve been writing for uhhh about two years??? yeah that sounds right. there’s little to no reblogs with that tag but if you’re curious, feel free to ask!

also I eat an abhorrent amount of apples. at least two every day. my record is five. doctors fear me. horses want to be me. apple is life.

I always knew I was meant to be a skeleton forever stuck in a position of reaching for something further down the tunnel I'm in, which the main character discovers to be a bag of gummy bears that expired the summer of 2012. the comedic side character inevitably bumps into me by accident and I crumble to dust

wip of my new tf oc Deadspace

LORE: Originally, Deadspace is a neutral sharpshooter in the war who ends up on earth where he befriends Julia, a human. However, in lieu of events that leave Julia paralyzed and Deadspace “processor-dead”, Shockwave sees the perfect opportunity for (!!!) science, and basically transfers Julia’s consciousness, memories, etc. from her own body and into Deadspace’s frame.

In other words, he gives her the body of her mostly-dead robot friend. Side effects include bleeding human blood instead of energon and an ability to harness the power of dead cybertronians in a way that I have not decided on yet.

INSPO: I really really wanted to make an oc with the color palette of my new favorite flower, impatiens, also known as touch-me-nots (which I am lowkey obsessed with, I’m so using that for symbolism). I’d already thought about a death-related name, so Deadspace seemed like a good choice.

ok so in the issue where Swindle calls Hot Rod Rodimus the little character name blurb that pops up when Swindle is scanning all the Autobots shows up as Rodimus before anyone has ever called him that (to my knowledge). Obviously this being a continuity error is the most likely explanation, but I will live and die by the idea that for the entirety of IDW Hot Rod’s existence his full name has always been Rodimus and he just thought it was stuffy and lame and goes by a nickname until Swindle convinces him to start going by his full name again.

This is doubly funny when you consider that a couple issues later, Cliffjumper hears Ultra Magnus go “Where’s Rodimus?” and he says “Who?” like imagine having a coworker go by Cool Jim for four million years and then a supervisor shows up and asks for James and you have No Clue who that might be.

Uuiuuuuughhhh the thing that sucks about watching a new tv show is that I’m invested Believe me Deborah I am so freaking invested yes you heard me I started watching Invincible on a whim last night and I’m hooked and I wanna look at fanart and ocs that people have made and make my own and look into fan theories and interpretations but I’m only three (3) episodes in and I CANT DO ANYTJING WITHOUT BUMPING INTO SPOILERS!!!!! there should be a filter for that on pinterest but nooooooo. we can make a complex algorithm to get you hooked and scrolling for hours at a time but the lord forbid we consider developing one that blocks out spoilers :( methinks it sad

Idk why but as a kid I used to get hysterically upset everytime I would imagine a gif of a rotating cow because I could never stop the cow from rotating no matter how hard I tried and I would be crying and no one knew why

This is probably an unnecessary addition, but OCD is missed in cases like these because it's deeply misunderstood by most people.

It's talked about like being obsessively neat or repeating pointless tasks is the main part of it, when really those are just potential symptoms.

The main thing behind OCD is not being about to turn off a thought. There's a thing where most people can just stop thinking about something. If it's over, it's not relevant, it doesn't matter anymore, people can turn their attention away. For OCD, that mechanism can get stuck. And some thought that was supposed to just temporarily pass through your head just stays there. An image of an object rotating. An anxiety about something bad happening. A wish that you made on a dandelion. These are all things that have at some point gotten stuck in my head, sometimes for years at a time.

The compulsions, the rituals, are the person trying to address the thought so it can go away. After all, if you're worried about the door not being locked you can check the lock. But for someone with OCD, that doesn't make the stuck thought go away. So they check it again. And again. And they made a ritual, maybe if I check it exactly five times, I'll know that it's locked and I can let this worry go.

It helps a little. It feels like you're doing something. But it doesn't solve the problem. Actual therapy for OCD involves not doing the compulsion. Instead, you ignore the thought, move around it, try not to give it space in your life. Your mind won't let the thought go normally, so instead you fill yourself with other thoughts. Other parts of your life.

It's not easy at first. Your mind fights you on it. But as you get practice, it gets easier. You learn tricks around your own mind, ways to look at the thought and go, hm. I guess I'll go distract myself now. It does get better. I promise
