Today, Charlie Kirk was killed during a debate.
Hello everyone, I want to come on here today to talk about the recent shooting at Evergreen High School and the Utah Valley University (the shooting that Charlie Kirk died in). Before anything else I want to say that I do not support any of his political views, but I do not agree with anything negative being said towards his children or wife.
Charlie Kirk was a right-winged advocate who was passionate for abortion and gun rights. Earlier today at the Utah Valley University, he was shot in his neck during a debate.
And at Evergreen High School, three students were critically injured after a shooting. The Jefferson County's sheriff claims that one of the injured is the suspected shooter.
We are in a day and age where we are not safe anywhere, thoughts and prayers are not enough. We NEED change or this will continue. PLEASE sign petitions, write to governors, show up to protests. IT HELPS!
Happy 42nd birthday to Daniel Mauser
It's been 26 years without him, unfortunately instead of spending this day with his family he's spending it in heaven. I'm wishing the best towards his family today. <3
On another note, I probably will be gone for a while longer. My computer broke (where I write and post from) and I'm gonna be busy with work. I love you all sm and this community means the world to me. Further updates will come 💛

taking a break + Daniel R and Corey post
hello everyone! I'm so sorry for being inactive. I've been dealing with burnout and mental issues recently, so I will be going on hiatus for a while. I know I missed Daniel and Corey's birthday posts, so to make it up I'll write info posts about them and upload them when I'm ready to return! I don't know how long this will be, could be later next week, could be in a month or two. My top priority right now is my mental health and school. My asks and DMs are always open, but please don't expect long form posts for a bit!
much love, Loveformauser <3
Today, Matthew Kechter would've been 42.
Matthew Joseph Kechter was born on the 19th of February, 1983 to Ann Kechter and Joe Kechter in Denver, Colorado. He played both offensive and defense for the Columbine football team and was an excellent student who valued his education. "He was a wonderful role model for his little brother" his parents wrote during his funeral service.
“Matt always worked hard in the weight room. But he was such a good kid. He was the type of kid you always wanted on your football team. He was always just so positive.” -Columbine's football coach Andy Lowry.
Matthew was in the library at table 16 during the massacre with his friend Craig Scott. (Isaiah Shoels later joined them.) Isaiah was taunted with racial slurs and killed; Matthew was shortly killed after him and died minutes after being shot.
Matthew's planned on attending the University of Colorado. After his passing, the university sent Matthew's younger brother, Adam, one of their jerseys with Matthew's number, 70 on the back. The Columbine football team wore ribbons with his number on it throughout the next season which they dedicated to him.
In September of 1999, he was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Matthew was laid to rest in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery. I couldn't find the exact date of his funeral but on April 24th, 1999, there was a remembrance service for Matthew, Rachel Scott, Daniel Mauser, and Kelly Fleming.
Matthew was a beautiful soul. Though his life was taken at 16, his legacy will live on to many hearts around the world. May he rest in peace and may his family and friends have a wonderful day remembering him. ❤️

Lauren Townsend as a kid, today we honor her life and legacy. Today she would have been celebrating her 44th birthday, Happy birthday lulu. 🤍🤍
Today, Lauren Townsend would've been 44.
Lauren (Lulu) Dawn Townsend was born January 17th, 1981, in Littleton Colorado, she was born 9 and a half weeks premature. Lauren's sibling's recalled that she loved Disney movies and dressing up with her older sister when she was younger. She also loved animals and was co-captain on her volleyball team during her senior season.
In Lauren's diary just months before the shooting she wrote this, “A woman in the middle of a field of flowers kissing Jesus’ wounds. I didn’t think I could draw such a beautiful picture. I did tonight. It took me only two hours. I think something was guiding me other than just my hand. That is my dream. When I die, I want to wake up in a field of flowers and see Jesus sitting there smiling, happy to see me, holding my hand. Then, I want to kiss his wounds. Maybe it sounds corny, but I can’t even describe how happy I would be if I could do that. Then I’d hug him, he’d kiss me on the forehead, and we’d just sit there hugging in the sun with the wind blowing in our hair. The wind is God because God is everywhere. Just that moment is worth living many lives for."
she was in the library during the shooting and was with Kelly Fleming (moved under the table during the shooting), Valeen Schnurr, Lisa Kruetz, Diwata Perez, and Jenna Park. she was buried in the Littleton cemetery. I can't find her funeral date, but the inscription on her grave reads:
"Lauren Dawn Townsend January 17, 1981 April 20, 1999 Angel Daughter Sister Friend"
Her life was tragically cut short at just 18. I wish her family and friends the best today. some places you can further read up on her legacy are heavens flower, her find a grave, the Denver post, and a columbine site. such a lovely soul taken too soon. rest easy Lulu <3
Today, Kelly Fleming would've been 42.
Kelly Ann Fleming was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 6th, 1983 to Dee and Dom Fleming. Her family moved to Littleton so their daughters could be in a safer neighborhood. She was described as shy and creative. She loved Halloween, vampire books, and writing. At the time of her death, she had finished part of her auto-biography. She often wrote stories in the library, most with happy endings. Kelly was learning to drive, and was saving up for a Mustang or Corvette, and she had plans of taking road trips or visiting Phoenix.
She was in the library at the time of the shooting, and was sitting with her friends. Her friend Lauren Townsend was killed just before she was. The Mauser's heard that Kelly's family was new to the area and they offered to have a joint funeral with Kelly and Daniel. Their funeral was held April 25th, 1999, just 5 days after the tragedy.
Kelly should have turned 42 today, but her life was taken at just 16. May she rest and peace. I hope her family the best wishes today. @Kelly.ann.fleming on instagram has a lovely page dedicated to her if you want more information.💗
daniel mauser (born june 25, 1983) did exceptionally well in all of his math and science related courses, and was a part of the school's debate team. despite not being a natural athlete, he also did cross country. named the top biology student of the sophomore class, daniel won an award, which was entitled the "stretch for excellence" award. in the fall of 1999, he was additionally accepted into the national honor society. pepperoni pizza, trivia, and the simpsons were just a few of his favorite things.
two weeks after april 20th, daniel was going to be confirmed at st. frances cabrini church, but unfortunately died before he got the chance. a plaque was placed in the teen program room in his honor 💒
Hello! sorry for my absence, I've been busy with stuff and didn't realize that I got logged out of my email, so I did have some trouble with that. I plan on being more active but I'm not sure what to post, any ideas or requests would be greatly appreciated! :)
‘’Devon Adams reminded us that “Moose” was Daniel’s nickname in debate class. “So appropriate-it’s a large, amusing but quick and fierce-when-it-needs-to-be-animal.” ‘’

fast facts for the georgia high shooting:
14 year old Colt Gray is confirmed to have been the shooter, and is in police custody. he is to be charged as an adult for murder.
no connection has been found between Gray and the victims.
4 have been confirmed dead (2 students, 2 teachers), and 9 are currently hospitalized — including apalachee high school's special education mathematics teacher David Phenix, who, according to his daughter, was shot in the hip and foot. he is currently stable and has already been through surgery for his wounds.
the school year at AHS started on august 1, which makes this week just the 5th week of school for the students.
With the recent events in Apalachee High School, I've been thinking long and hard about this. Will gun violence ever end? We've had constant tragedies and reminders of the state our country is in. We shouldn't be in a place where children are scared for their lives in the one place they should feel safe. As a student in America I'm concerned for whats next. Gun violence has taken so many innocent lives and it's honestly terrifying thinking of how the kids must've felt. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families dealing with this loss. Rest in peace to the four students and teachers who lost their lives, and safe recoveries to the 9 who were injured.
