So I'm currently reading Glow of the Everflame and I am about 60% in and it's the part right after the ball.

The slow burn is killllllinggg me so bad. Also I accidentally read ahead and I saw some things, like what the hell happens!

I need Luther and Diem together now! And I know they do eventually but please tell me it's worth it, because I can't take it anymore.

Plus I don't want to get through it too fast because I know the 4th book doesnt come out until September. Ahhhhh

I just finished Sparks of the Everflame and I actually did enjoy it and read it pretty fast.

I rate it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Also spoilers....

I thought the writing was pretty good and enjoyed the way she wrote emotions. A few things I liked/disliked and a few things I'm excited for...

- I like Diem, I do. She just makes stupid decisions sometimes but she's only like 20 years old so I'm giving her some grace. She is very compassionate, so I appreciate that about her. One thing that does drive me crazy is how she takes everything Henri says at face value and I'm like gurll idk I feel like he's lying to her about alot of things.

-Henri, idk how I feel about him. I don't really trust him now after finishing the book. I liked him in the beginning but now idk. When he asked her to marry him and mentioned children and all that, I'm like do you even know this girl, what an odd thing to say. Plus there are so many hints that their relationship is just not gonna work.

-Luther, well damn. I liked him instantly. The chapters where she went to the palace after the explosions and the whole scene of the vision between them and whatever shifted that had them holding their chests was so good. Then the kiss and what he said to her, I was giggling and kicking my feet. I'm excited to see where their relationship goes from here, especially now that we know she was selected as queen which is crazy but I sort of saw it coming.

-Teller and Lily, I love them. They're sweet and nothing better happen to them.

Overall I thought it was good and I'm interested to learn more about the magic system and world. I also found out that the last book is coming out in September so I gotta catch up.

Look I am not a Nesta hater, I'm kind of neutral about her, even though I do find her a bit insufferable sometimes. Some of her angry moments I understand and I even find her a bit funny sometimes, but I have a hard time with her woe is me thought process. Also as a fellow older sister, I have a hard time forgiving how she acted and still acts towards Feyre, but I understand she is a fictional character and Feyre loves and forgives her, so I get that (my gripe is more with the author and how she portrayed their relationship). Buttt, I think she does need to get her ass beat, at least once or twice lolll

So yes more neutral about her, but my god do SOME of her stans make me want to hate her out of spite, like it's crazy how extreme they can get. She's not my favorite in the books but even I can see how some of them mischaracterize her so much and act like she has done and could do no wrong, while hating everyone else. Plus the constant tearing down Feyre just pmo so bad.

Don't get me wrong, I know this type of activity comes from all sides of this fandom, but this is what I see more of in my experiences. In general this fandom has just become such a toxic place, it's ridiculous.

Can we talk about why a large part of this fandom forgets that Feyre is also a warrior! She trained and she knows how to use a sword, yet they always portray her as this soft feminine type. Like she is literally both, a great mix of warrior and soft, but people always generalize her as one thing. She has so many bad ass moments in the series and somehow people forget that, all because what? The last book!?

I just get so frustrated how some of this fandom portrays her and don't understand how they always have to nitpick every aspect of her character and tear it down, in order to lift other characters up.

call me dramatic idgaf but it’s always feyre’s abuse that i have to see debated on the fucking internet and i’m over it. there are so many FMCs (not just sjm’s) whose abuse is never contended (AND IT NEVER SHOULD BE EVER!!!!!!!) but feyre’s is. constantly. i fucking hate it.

All of this! It makes me so mad! A majority of this fandom are women who claim to be feminists, but are so so male-centered! It makes me think how they are off the internet!

With all this news about the next books, I honestly just want to see more Feyre. I want to see her being powerful as a high lady and showing off her powers and just being her badass self, plus being a mother. She can be a mother and a powerful high lady at the same time.

I am just tired of seeing antis treat her like shit because they dont understand her or they've let terrible headcannons overtake actual canon. They constantly dismiss her and mischaracterize her.

She is so important to the foundation and future of these books.

Rhys had a secondary main role in Acosf which gave him some page time, while Feyre was somewhere in the background. Now give me the same with Feyre, while she excuses Rhys being busy in his office researching Aelin, Bryce, the other worlds etc and taking care of Nyx. He can come at the end of one of the books with some kind of breakthrough.

Which i do believe is fairly possible. Feyre is heavily connected to all the next potential povs (lucien, elain, mor and az).

Safe to say I will be very disappointed if she doesn’t have a more important role now that we don’t have the pregnancy excuse. Sarah better show the a mother can be strong and everything she said in the podcast. Otherwise it was just talk.

Yess exactly! She said it, now she has to show it. Feyre is not the type to just sit quietly by, she is always down for the action, so hopefully SJM didn't forget that.

Has anyone ever thought the reason why SJM doesn't give Tamlin any grace or redemption arc like other characters is...

Because he sucks and he's boring!

On top of being Feyre's abuser!

To me his redemption was when he helped them after they rescued Elain, that was enough. I could care less about him, especially after the high lord's meeting.

As a Feyre fan literally she is to blame. Theyre smug because as much as SJM makes her seem important, as a Feyre stan she makes her seem irrelevant. She mostly writes about Rhys in HOFAS as the ruler and Nesta. The fans are smug because of how the AUTHOR dismisses her ever since she started focusing on the sisters “powers” in ACOWAR. It’s all her fault. If she let Feyre actually do anything we wouldn’t have to deal with the fandom dismissing her because they’d be proven wrong if she was made to seem powerful & relevant still. Cant stand SJM’s treatment of Feyre because it gives the fandom more fuel to dismiss and mock her when she never does shit compared to Rhys post Acowar.

I completely understand this take and this is one of my biggest issues with SJM.

She can explore so much more with Feyre, I want to see all she can do with her powers, what does she look like at full power? Give her a sword again, let her use a bow again!! What does her beast form look like!? There is so much she could do! I know she is a mom now and that's important, so she could do all of this while being a mom!

I agree with you anon that SJM does underutilized Feyre so much and that fuels the antis to do the same thing.

Idk honestly I'm waiting to see what the next books will be about before I decide to continue with the story.

I could see someone write an interesting critical analysis of Feyre, Rhys and the IC even if it's obvious they don't really like them, and be like you know what I haven't thought about it before like that, that plays into the complexity of their characters. But then I look at their page and their hash tags and what do I see "tamlin deserves better". Yup, taking my mf like back.

I usually am good about scrolling when I see Pro Nesta posts and Anti IC (I'm not a nesta hater, she is just not a favorite character of mine), but Pro Tamlin, can't stand it. I hate him fr.

Why is the internet such an insufferable place to be on right now!? Like genuinely, every app I get on lately is filled with people who hate on everything, every show, movie, book, person, blah blah blah.

Honestly Facebook is the worst. Idk why I even have it anymore. Sometimes tiktok and Instagram are a close 2nd, same with Tumblr.

It's my fault for reading comments tho, knowing how people are.

Maybe I need to finally take a break from social media for a while. :(
