Mo0gs / Morgan Lovell Beware Post
I’m FA user Lysandre (this is my second time posting here publicly) and I need to write a small fore-word before heading into this:
The last time I had an issue with mo0gs was in May of 2017, when she decided to copy one of my older adoptable designs for profit. Upon being confronted I was issued apologies that I now know were just masked lies. Proof of our conversation can be found here. At that time I decided to trust that she knew she was in trouble, she’d been caught, confronted, and I had hoped she might actually refrain from causing any more trouble. I kept an eye on her for awhile longer, and even looked into whether or not she’d been causing problems for others as I’d seen a lot of inconsistencies in her artwork and thought she might be “taking inspiration” from other artists as well. She had been, as revealed by a close friend within the art community (Meloki) and even one of my own customers (who had noticed the “eerie” similarities between one of Mo0gs’ adopts and one of their own creations, leaving them feeling very violated and unsure of themselves).
With the help of others, over the last year I’ve made a compilation of just some of the copyrighted work that mo0gs had taken the liberty of taking “inspiration” from and selling for profit.
Unfortunately, I let my guard down for several months and had stopped keeping an eye on mo0gs in order to take care of my work and focus on more pressing matters in my life. Yesterday, however, I decided to go back through her tumblr gallery just to see what she might be up to, only to find that one of her recently-created characters, Nymeria, was “inspired” by my own character, Sidy. I’m upset that I didn’t catch her the moment she’d done this, 8 months ago, but I have to forgive myself because she did this a full 7 months after she’d assured me she’d stop and my focus was on other aspects of my life.

People like Morgan Lovell are one of the primary reasons that I can’t feel comfortable or safe posting my personal artwork or character designs to my very place of business because she is a relentless liar and plagiarist. As someone who has known mo0gs since her starting days on the internet, I can give you my word that she has copied others and been reprimanded numerous times, only to continue copying and, instead of changing her ways, learned to be stealthier.
If you’d like a few more examples of mo0gs’ inability to stay away from tracing, she’s also traced original Overwatch artwork in order to garner followers within the fandom. But not just that! She’s also directly copied the work of other artists (as well as photographers) without credit just for funsies.
Morgan Lovell banks on having followers who don’t know the work of her victims or don’t follow her victims. She banks on her empty apologies being enough so that she can go behind her victims backs and continue this unbelievable behavior. Morgan Lovell is a grown woman who knows exactly what she’s doing and this needs to stop. She’s been selling adopts on stolen bases at least since 2015, and she’s been copying the work of other artists since she first established an online presence. I don’t have all of the evidence that I could, as mo0gs has had a history of being confronted and then deleting the offending images from any and all social media platforms.
I would encourage anyone who has had issues with mo0gs to come forward with their evidence as well, as I know she’s successfully silenced a lot of victims. I’m hoping that me speaking up will allow others to feel safe enough to speak up as well.
If you’ve had any issues with the user mo0gs, please feel free to contribute to this post. I know a lot of people will likely make excuses for her and honestly I wish I had been keeping better track of her when she wasn’t as stealthy about her plagiarism, but this is the best I can do (yes, some of the examples that I used can be chalked up to “oh lots of artists do that in order to grow! replicating classical works is super common practice” but please consider looking closer and understanding the point behind the post as a whole).
I hope that the majority of you can trust me on the fact that I’m stepping out of my usual professional skin in order to inform you all about the shit Morgan has continually put me and many other users through in the past. Not only has she effected me and my online presence, but she has also bothered my customers and my only regret is not coming forward sooner.
(For context to the conversation I have in the links above with mo0gs where she references our “past”, Morgan and I were very briefly friends who “paintchatted” together. She wasn’t communicative about the ocs that we had interacting at the time and I simply didn’t want to be friends anymore. I want to be as transparent about our past as possible, and it simply doesn’t go any deeper than that. I don’t want this to be seen as a falling out between old friends, I haven’t been in contact with Morgan on a personal level in years.)
I also want to address concerns like this! If you look at the links that I provided comparing Sidy and Nymeria, please also consider the following: 1. Mo0gs admits to “taking inspiration” from me actively (this isn’t a recent development, she’s done this knowingly for years and actively lied to my face) 2. Nymeria’s original post can be found here, in which her original concept art portrays her as high-femme, soft, and BARELY resembling Sidy at all. Suddenly 10 days after I post my artwork of Sidy (check the dates in the call-out post’s links) Nymeria’s design changes entirely? 3. I’m not “going after every artist who has a buff lady of color OC with big hair and facial hair”, I’m going after a single, specific artist who I know leeches off of my work and isn’t above stealing concepts in order to garner attention. I have no issue with there being an entire community of ocs who look similar and have similar concepts, but if you look at the entire story along with all of the facts, THIS IS PLAGIARISM.
Not gonna lie, that tracing is pretty obvious, but I don't see any issues with any of the adopts?? Like I'm trying to see the similarities and they seem very slim. If you want to go after her for the tracing I think power to yah, but I don't think it's wrong to take inspo from other artists as far as the character designs; it didn't seem like she was ripping off your designs. Most artists have certain types of designs that draw their eye, and it’s pretty natural to use those inspirations to make designs of your own.
