Guys who complain about the friendzone often don’t care about their female friends’ personal boundaries, forcing their female friends build more walls up. A good cartoon.

“For the love of God, Montresor!” -Cask of Amontifriendzone, Edgar Allan Poe
Incessantly, I heard a smacking, as of some entitled dipshit whacking, whacking on my chamber door.
Resignedly, I placed another layer, voicing a quiet, repeated prayer, “This dude thinks he’s a player, but I am not a point to score, he should fuck off and bother me no more.”
Quoth the friendzoned, “Fucking whore.”

Oh my god
holy shit
“Nice guy!” said I, “Total dildo–nice guy still if nerd or dudebro, Whether reddit sent, or whether romcoms tossed thee here ashore, Barely known yet still entitled, holding now your Tom Waits vinyl, Begging me for something primal, tell me truly, I implore Is this–is this shit for fucking real? Tell me, tell me, I implore! Quoth the friendzoned, “Fucking whore.”
“Nice guy!” said I, “Total dildo–nice guy still if nerd or dudebro, By the mores that you abuse thus, by those films we both adore, Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, by stalking me through Facebook, You have gained a twisted outlook of whom those tropes are for, Paint a rare and radiant dream girl whilst you remain a bore, Quoth the friendzoned, “Fucking whore.”
“Be that slur our sign of parting, creep or douche!” I shrieked, upstarting, “Get thee back to lonely anguish and your friend’s used comic store! Leave no white rose as a token of the lust you claim heartbroken, Leave my scathing words to soak in! Quit the name calling of ‘whore’, When you lust for every girl, but when they say nay they are whores! Quoth the friendzoned, “Fucking whore.”
And the friendzoned, never scoring, still imploring, still imploring, On some fetid old subreddit for a girl who will adore The nicer guys and not the “douchebags”, unaware that it’s a red flag To be his soulmate o'er him learning they both like the movie Thor To fuck him for being nerdy even though he is a bore, Then she says no–fucking whore.

Metallic Monks (Brotherhood of Steel) - Fallout
I always liked the soundtracks to the first two Fallout games better than the soundtracks in 3 and 4. One of the things I loved about New Vegas was that they’d pepper bits of the old soundtracks around the place.
Inon Zur’s stuff is nice, I guess, but it’s delibrately designed to slide into the background while you focus on the game, and that makes it lose something, in my opinion.
Okay so you know how some people have headcanoned that Junkrat would have a possum as a pet? While I love the idea, something donned on me last night. All the pictures depict Junkrat with the kind of possum we have in the US. But, Australia and the US do not have the same kind of possum. In fact, they are quite different.
The Australian possum is actually a really cute lil animal:
Look at it! Ain’t it the cutest thing??
Then there’s the monster I have to deal with living in America:
I fucking hate these things and fear them with every fiber of my being.
So when you think about it, Junkrat has probably never even seen one of these. Now imagine if you will, once him and Roadhog join Overwatch and are dragged to the US for whatever reason, the finally see one.
Since Overwatch isn’t exactly legal, they probably hide out in really shitty run down buildings. Suddenly, they hear someone yelling about how there’s a possum in one of the rooms. Junkrat, who’s picturing what he’s got back in Australia, doesn’t understand why everyone’s freaking out so much and is probably calling them babies for being scared of something so cute. So he goes into the room ready to just pick it up and toss it outside, but then he sees it. All they hear is high pitched screaming and, ‘WHAT THE FUCK IS T H A T’ as Junkrat hauls ass out of there. Then Roadhog just sighs, ‘Jamison chill the fuck out it’s just a- oH SWEET JESUS WHAT IS THAT’
Cut to Roadhog trying to lure it onto one of Junkrat’s traps while Soldier 76 is trying to prevent Junkrat from blowing up the whole damn building.
In the end Zarya took care of it
Yeah, Australian possums LOOK cute, but they sound terrifying.
They used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.

META: On the pathophysiology of lyrium addiction and withdrawal
Mostly just used Wikipedia and my own very rusty knowledge on neurology from vet school to come up with this. Basically I saw some fics where Cullen dies from lyrium withdrawal and I thought BUT WHAT’S THE PATHOPHYSIOLOGY? HOW DOES IT WORK? and my veterinarian brain started writing random meta down.
We know from Confessions of a Lyrium Addict that memory issues, cold hands, and claustrophobia can result from lyrium withdrawal. We know from Cullen that lyrium suppresses nightmares and PTSD symptoms and without them, those things can be inescapable. We know from Alistair that the symptoms include confusion and weepiness. Cullen also admits to headaches, we see him stumble from weakness or dizziness, and he says there is pain that comes and goes, though he does not elaborate on the nature of it. Going off of benzodiazepine and alcohol withdrawal, pain may include headaches, chest pain, stomach upset, electric shock sensations, or nerve pain/tingling.
How and why? Magic and lyrium are inextricably linked in Thedas but neither are well-studied. Let’s start with some ideas on magical physiology first to understand lyrium’s role.
If we look to the animal kingdom, we have very few animals that are able to exert a measurable elemental effect on their environment. One example? The electric eel. It possesses a main organ, a Hunter’s organ, and a Sach’s organ that are capable of creating a massive electrical discharge. It’s feasible that mages possess a similar organ that is more flexible, capable of manipulating mana into various elemental forms of magic. As with any organ, neurochemical signals dictate its use. The body has a natural store of such transmitters, but lyrium solutions augment them; the lyrium itself may also act as a neurotransmitter in mages.

“You say your name is Bob and not Jim. Your lie is misinterpreted and they now believe you are a serial killer.”
“You swing your axe, but it slips from your fingers and sails across the room.”
“In an attempt to dodge the incoming arrows, you jump into the swarm.”
“You bull rush the enemy but miss and jump off of the cliff.”
“You try to land on your feet but you land on your sword instead.”

DA:I Travel Times
[full size]
I took the RPG map of Ferelden, which had a scale on it, and overlaid it on top of the world map from Inquisition, resizing it until everything matched up (and I left the eastern bit of Ferelden on there since the Inquisition world map cuts it off). Then I just measured the distance from each location (via the major roads on the map and possible routes I added in myself–the green-ish tinted pathways) and used the scale to figure out how far away everything was from each other and these are the approximate travel times I came up with:

You will be missed - Rest in Peace -
There goes a very big part of my childhood. Hard to believe there will never be another Discworld novel to look forward to.
Goodbye, Sir Terry.
Some pieces of audio from a Cullen cutscene that didn’t make it into the game (originally found here). I decided to try and edit together the clips to make it easier to enjoy without having to download the .zip file. (Sorry in advance if the person who did the original rip has already done a post like this. I am not trying to steal anyone’s thunder.) Sadly there isn’t really enough to make for a cohesive conversation, but there are some interesting bits in there.
WOAH WOAH WOAH THERE CULLEN TALKS IN HIS SLEEP??
Cullen talks in his sleep, gets sea-sick, cut a bird free because it was stuck instead of hurting it or just leaving it there, once bruised a rib because he was trying so hard not to laugh during an inspection, and WAS INFATUATED WITH THE INQUISITOR RIGHT FROM THE START.
