I didn't expect Silco to dadmode Jinx so hard, so early. I'm soft over them?? Hello??? She trusts him to hug her and play with her, and he trusts her to apply his gnarly eye meds and defends her to Sevika because she's his special girl.

Like, I fully expected Jinx to recoil when he showed up furious in her explosion bedroom, cause I'm so used to tv shows where authority figures condition their troubled kids to be scared and therefore obedient. But the fact she genuinely isn't scared of him pulling her ear means he doesn't hurt her when she fucks up.

Silco and Jinx you have my whole heart.

it’s especially heartbreaking ( to me ) that faith lehane who grew up in poverty, hated and abused one day found out that she was the chosen one, that she was special that for the first time in her life she was chosen, she had something that was only hers. only to have that taken away from her too, only to find out that she isn’t the only one, that she isn’t special, that there’s another girl who was chosen before her, a girl that everyone prefers to her, a girl that doesn’t even want to be a slayer, and yet is still better than her.

I obviously love the "You're the one, Buffy" speech with all my heart, but there is something so special to me about "As daft a notion of soulful Spike the killer is, it's nothing compared to the thought that another girl could mean anything to me."

That! That line hits so hard every damn time, because it's him saying "I don't care if the whole world thinks of me as a monster even now that I have a soul, but I can't stand the thought that you'd ever believe that I don't love you anymore. That you could think that you'd ever stop being the most important person in my life. Because that hurts more than all the hate and judgment I could get from anyone."

And that is just poetic cinema. It's Spike in his core.

Rewatching Fool For Love and I hadn’t quite acknowledged this the first time around, and maybe it’s more potent with the added perspective on the imagery of the coat in season 7, but there’s something deeply poetic about the way that when Buffy pushes Spike to the ground and tells him that he’s beneath her, echoing the scene with Cecily, his coat slips off his shoulders. In this moment he’s the most emotionally vulnerable and the closest he has been to who he was the day he died that we have yet seen on screen, and when that happens the coat visibly slips out of frame onto the pavement and then remains loose around his arms in the wider shot whilst Buffy walks away. We’ve just seen exactly what the coat represents when we watched him steal it, but Buffy takes it away from him without even knowing that she’s done it and makes him feel like the person he has been pretending he never was for over a century, the person we just spent the entire episode watching him bury, and all of it is captured and distilled in just this tiny moment where the coat slides off his shoulder and he looks suddenly without armour, suddenly vulnerable

PURELY my opinion: Lots and lots of music theory. I hold that Silco, even/especially after the assumed hearing damage to his left ear still likes music a lot. My own lil HC is he's the one who bought Jinx the phonograph as his is somewhat matching in his office. So books on musicians of the time, music theory, different biographies of favourite composures (insert Beethoven equivalent on his shelf for overcoming physical hardship to still be a creative etc) In the same lane I feel he'd also have loads of books in relation to paintings of nature. It very well could just be my bias but I feel he'd have loads of books on the larger nature of the world of Arcane specifically outside of cities. Zaun is difficult to live in, Zaun is harsh and uncaring to her inhabitants, I can only imagine from even just the point of studying the art ala Thrawn, he'd just like to imagine places away from the smog and air that hurts to breathe. I could go on, and on, and on, about this as I have... several thoughts, but that's all I gots for now.
