i had a nightmare last night i was at a marina with my friend and there were saltwater crocodiles swimming all around and she said, "don't worry, they won't come up on the docks. they don't hurt people." and i said, "what about that one? does that one hurt people" and she said, "which one?" and my dream comedically cut to a crocodile in the water wearing a Jason mask.
for people asking, it was wearing the mask like this:
my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"

I feel it would be good to have a word that's like not ragebait but shamebait, where you can read a post and just go 'ah, this person just wants me to feel ashamed of myself and is not engaging with the issue in a constructive or useful way. I do not have to participate in this actually' and like. move on with your day

Malvolioâs Revolve
The joy of Shakespeare is that even if you see the same play dozens of times, each production is its own, unique experience.
Having said that⊠there are certain bits of stage business that often crop up in numerous productions. One of my favorites is Malvolioâs revolve.
Just for fun, here are various examples of Malvolioâs revolve that have been captured on film. (If the gifs donât work, check out my original post here.)
Alec Guinness in the 1970 ITV Saturday Night Theatre production  does the classic dubious, self-conscious revolve, although Sir Toby and his gang are safely behind a hedge and donât have to hide.
Nicholas Pennell in this 1986 filmed production at the Stratford Festival of Canada executes a confident and rarely-seen double revolve, forcing his peanut gallery to duck out of sight.
In this filmed version of the Renaissance Theatre Companyâs 1988 production, Richard Briers executes a very slow , dubious revolve that is notable for being counter-clockwise. In my experience, most Malvolios revolve in a clockwise direction.
Finally, this Stratford Festival production milks the revolve for all itâs worth, with Tom Rooneyâs Malvolio turning at just the right speed to miss Sir Andrewâs desperate dash across the stage.
Some productions choose to have Malvolio turn the letter around, rather than himself. Others either blow past the line without acknowledging its comedic gag potential, or cut it in its entirety. All are valid choices, but honestly⊠why look a gift gag in the mouth?
âIn my experience, most Malvolios revolve in a clockwise directionâ is my new favorite blind of Shakespeare analysis
I need everyone to know that in The Public Theaterâs 2025 Free Shakespeare in the Park production, Peter Dinklage puts the rarely seen double revolve to shame, opting for a traveling multi-spin, WHIRLING himself across the stage as he CONTINUES TO READ THE LETTER

Kermit the Frog would be an ideal assassin because if caught he would need to be tried by a jury of his peers (Muppets) and you would not be able to find a Muppet who does not have a pre-existing opinion on Kermit the fucking Frog. case thrown out. kermie can kill again. it's easy being green
I don't know, I think his chances are still good on getting out but if the court put in the work they could fill the box.
