Secrets

How didn’t she know? All those sleepless nights. Those long days when all we did was cry. There wasn’t much hiding there,no room for privacy. It was chaotic at all times from the moment the garage made a sound. Or was it as I looked out the window and shivered every time a car passed. I remember trying to make myself evaporate before the front door rushed open. Yet, she always seemed to see me I thought. I can still feel the energy shift as every room was inspected of flaw. I still play the game of walking as light as possible, and jump too every time wood makes a sound. Rare when I wasn’t being criticized for not meeting expectations, so how didn’t she notice the wounds he left behind ?

Morning drive

I wish I could say it was different

That there was change

That I had an explanation

You know an answer for how we got here

Don’t die waiting

I’ve been looking for the same thing

For as long as I could breathe

Searching all abroad for the piece missing

I’ve analyzed my steps

I’ve dissected my mistakes promising change

Dug deep into the roots

Making sure not a thing left buried

Back tracked over and over

Didn’t I forget something

Turned back to the bread crumbs I left

Ate them for the energy to crawl back up

To look you in your face and say

I have no idea

Not a clue as to how we got here

How I turned from a shell to a ghost

Why even my silence feels like I’m screaming

What caused all these breaks and cracks

Where all the glue yourself together went

And I can’t tell you how thin the line is

Between flight freight or be dead

I won’t bet on who’ll win

I don’t want to know anymore

I don’t want to think anymore

I don’t want to care anymore

I don’t think god meant to make me

I don’t think anyone needs me

I don’t want to feel poor me

I don’t want anyone to feel sorry

I’m exhausted

My sweat has turned to blood

My body feels weak
