Look, it's very simple: deviation from the norm is always bad, unless I'm the one doing the deviating, in which case I'm a brave iconoclast and it's the Masses who are wrong.
I'm imagining a world where RPGMaker somehow made it as the de facto codebase for software and you have to navigate your banking app by walking around in a huge room full of NPCs named "make deposit" and "make withdrawal" etc and there's loud as fuck stock music playing
yesterday my grandma found a penny on the floor and said to my grandpa “there’s that penny again, pa!” and i absolutely lost my mind because i couldn’t shelve the thought of a single panel Far Side comic of two old people on the front porch in the middle of nowhere and a giant penny angrily and inexplicably rolling through the wastes
“there’s that penny again, pa!”
this is hands down my single favorite post ive ever made that got notes
I sincerely hope that the OP realizes that gramma was very likely quoting that cartoon.
the cartoon that was drawn and posted based on my post? probably not, but i guess we can never know
welcome to body world (inhales shakily through my clenched teeth) a world where everyone has a body
write it anyway even if you think it’s bad. a badly written fic is still better than a nonexistent fic.
I want to add that I have read some fic that I felt were bad but they had something about them - story, theme, a specific moment, etc. - that was so interesting or chewy that I think about it to this day, even years later.
So what if you're not someone's next great author? You could also haunt their dreams and nightmares simultaneously, and be the ghost in their daydreams. Don't ever give them peace.
Umberto Verdoliva.
There's an old saying (I think it's Russian): the same boiling water that softens the potato will harden the egg
All dead… all rotten. Elves and men and orcses. A great battle, long ago. The Dead Marshes… yes, that is their name
writing the first half of a fic: yaaaay! wooo!!! 🌈💝 fun ideas 😊💖✨️~
writing the second half of a fic: I am in a fight with god himself and he is winning
lads is it good when your document starts to look like this:
“Slonking it back” is what got you in this mess in the first place adventurer. Might you consider a different course of action?
Slonking it forward in a safe and mindful manner
You are going to bias the data on the word slonk adventurer, I really do suggest another action
On an adventure, straight up slonking it
Don’t say that James Dean
