craziest thing in the world is how many restaurants have started not including fries or any side whatsoever with their burgers meanwhile the burgers cost the downpayment on a new car. you want $19 for a fucking sandwich and you aint gonna give me even a scoop of coleslaw on the side? you’ve truly lost your fucking mind. i’m filing a class action lawsuit atp
It’s okay

to really get womens sports to the next level we need to craft teams that are supervillains we need a powerful eternal successful team that also has bad vibes bad energy and is fundamentally evil we need to construct the new york yankees of women
with the resurgence in popularity of calvin & hobbes, I’m so surprised no one has included this

i don't really care what your personal american feelings are on homeschooling. you have to understand that it's a system that further empowers parents to own their children's lives and behavior. It generates abuse by enabling parents to cut off contact for the child with other children and adults. homeschooling must be understood as a type of grooming, potentially.
Still wrapping my head around the fact the phrase "Hold Your Horses" is a play on the word Stable...
To be stable.
obsessed w how none of these are the real origin of the phrase
If you’re wondering the actual origins (all of these are very obvious, making it hilarious anything else was suggested):
- hold your horses: from horseback riding/horse-drawn carriages. Holding the reins up to stop the horse from going forward. Making you halt in place.
- be there or be square: phrase that started popping up in the 1930’s in jazz music spaces. A ‘square’ is a boring conformist normie. Hip cool youngin’s listening to jazz music wouldn’t want to be square.
- break a leg: It is what it says on the tin: if you tell an actor/performer “good luck”, you’re jinxing them. So you wish for them to break a leg instead. Unknown origin but definitely popular by the 1940s. Has been re-interpreted more recently to reference bowing at the end of a performance as well (breaking the straight line of your leg with a curtsy).
