A group who are trying to “cure” autism with torture.
So y’all know the classic edge trope of “my blade cannot be sheathed until it has tasted blood”? What if a magic sword that has that requirement, except it’s sort of inverted. A sword that, instead of being inhabited by an evil spirit which once awakened cannot be lulled back to sleep except by blood sacrifice, was inhabited by a benevolent spirit who would not allow the sword to be drawn unless bloodshed were the only possible solution. A sword whose power could never be misused because it would only allow itself to be used in situations where it was justified. What about a Paladin who spends their entire journey fighting with a sheathed sword, incapacitating but never killing or maiming. The party believes that the Paladin has taken an oath of no killing, until they face the big villain. And it is in that moment, and that moment alone, that the sword will allow itself to be drawn.

The "blade that must taste blood before being sheathed" may have originated with the tale of Muramasa and his mentor, Masamune. Both were the finest swordsmiths in Japan, and one day, the younger Muramasa challenged Masamune to see whose swords were better. They each took a sword they'd forged and dipped it into a river.
Muramasa's blade cut the leaves on the water, the fish in the river, even the very air that passed over it. Masamune's blade cut only the leaves. Fish swam up to it but were left unharmed and the wind shifted gently over it. Even the cut leaves reformed on the other side of the blade.
It was said that Muramasa's blades were bloodthirsty and evil, that his ambition and violence poured into them and they would cut anything without discrimination. Masamune's blade by contrast would refuse to cut that which was innocent.
I put a blade like this in my d&d campaign! It was an assassin's blade that had this myth attached to it as a justification for the assassinations. "If they were killed by this blade they *must* have been evil." It was just a myth until the assassin turned Oath of Redemption paladin and swore to a god of protection, and now the sword can deal no damage against non-evil aligned creatures / those whove spilled no blood in malice.

Hey idk who needs this but helpful reminder that "virgin blood" in any witchcraft shit that requires that means "virgin" in the same sense as "virgin hair" means hair that hasn't been dyed or processed in any way, natural in the default sense. So no, "virgin blood" doesn't mean blood from a virgin, just blood that hasn't been used for any other kind of witchy shit earlier.
Whether nor not someone has fucked before is completely irrelevant. Any act of fucking doesn't instantly make someone contaminated or un-magic any of their shit. You're just not supposed to re-use blood for blood magic. That's just not. Just do not. Like that's just weird who does that.

based on this post i think it'd be really sweet if shen jiu went to the red pavilion one day and found out one of his favorite courtesans he often used to meet at his visits was pregnant and asked shen qingqiu if he'd take the baby away from here after it's born. She wants to have a baby but doesn't want it's upbringing to be in a brothel and shen qingqiu finally being in a position in his life where he can actually help others, agrees.
Usually courtesans don't carry babies to term and are often isolated/kept away from the public so as to not reveal the pregnancy, but shen jiu would spend time with her everyday, keep her company, play music for her, and they'd talk and have tea over a game of go and he'd bring certain medicinal herbs and a diet plan for her after he asks mu qingfang what he'd recommend.
The time comes for birth and Shen jiu is Panicking and he's a nervous wreck, would he be good enough to take care of a child? A whole new child? A complete blank slate, meaning the baby's life philosophy, it's priniciples, morals, character even is going to be a reflection of shen jiu and his parenting??? Is this even legal? Objectively speaking he can teach the child many skills and etiquette, he's a scholar and an academic after all. Teaching things is easy, being a role model? Impossible. He didn't have a semblance of normalcy growing up how could he be the picture of gentleness, patience and kindness for a Child? A whole human baby person. But it's too late now, he's already holding the baby and it's the most delicate and fragile being he's ever encountered and it's cradled in his arms and he's afraid of tainting it, breaking it even.
Suddenly he's jerked out of his spiral by the smallest, chubby little hand reaching out and holding on to his long slender finger and he slowly lets out a breath. Shen Jiu thinks he could love this baby forever, as his own child. The mid wife says it's a baby girl. Shen Jiu promises nothing will ever happen to this baby girl, as long as he can help it. He carries the baby over to her mother and sits down by her side, as the baby cooes.
