jkr is literally posting upskirt photos to her social media. when will it finally get through to harry potter fans that their support makes her feel confident and correct enough to do things like this
If the holocaust denialism SOMEHOW wasn't enough for you to shut up about your favourite kids book as an adult; JK Rowling just committed a sex crime IRL against a transgender woman.
When do we start to care.

I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while theyβre growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think theyβll get bulky as though bulking isnβt a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density π₯
if you say women are intentionally nerfed from birth in 2026 people look at you like youβre insane and start condescendingly telling you about how women are just better at different things (but not during their periods haha) but this was a completely basic feminist talking point I grew up with like βgirls can do it too! [shot of little girls climbing and running with boys]β nickelodeon commercial tier base level I hate it how is everyone suddenly dumber than the average 7 year old
Watched a documentary about abuse and advice one guy said to give children was, "Tell them that if someone is hurting them, to tell someone - and don't just tell one person. Tell as many people as possible, and keep telling as many people as possible until the abuse stops." and i really liked that
Bc so many ppl focus on the idea of telling A Trusted Adult, but even a well-meaning individual can fuck up and let abuse fall through the cracks or not know what to do
Whereas if a child tells LOADS of adults AND other kids, there's far less opportunity for an abuser to do damage control
Consistently telling their story and spreading it around disempowers the abuser to control and coerce the flow of information, or to utilise gaps and weaknesses in systems of reporting or welfare to isolate the child
Just really good advice. Not suprised I don't hear it more often.
I hate you epitome of innocence being represented with blonde hair I hate you lightness representing goodness I hate you "angelic features" automatically being read as blonde hair and blue eyed with pale skin I hate you whiteness as the default for morality I HATE YOU I HATE YOU
Guess who's being the most annoying on this post
this post isnt about blondes and how its so unfair to them that theyre always viewed as good healthy holy morally upright outstanding people no matter what this post is about racism its about colorism its about white supremacy making people with dark features and skin literally feel evil. this is not about your stupid disney princesses or achilles or your fave anime boys being allowed to be unhinged feral shitty awful people and this sure as hell is not an opportunity for blonde people themselves to show their entire pasty flat asses and beg praise for "breaking the stereotype" by being shitty unhinged people. fandom people you are 192% of the problem. white people in general you are 1,000% the origin of the problem. this site is so unbearably white my GOD
βBecause the truth is, tech doesnβt have an image problem. It doesnβt have a message problem. It has an intention problem. Whatβs wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasnβt successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. Whatβs wrong is that heβs trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product thatβs designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isnβt that you havenβt told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.β

Everyone should be aware of nitter.net
for any address to twitter you can replace the βx.comβ with βnitter.netβ and you will be able to browse as if you have an account. Lifesaver.
Similarly, imginn.com works for most Instagram addresses. I still havenβt found one for Facebook.
I'm not surprised this is the case but it truly wouldn't have occurred to me that anyone would take "don't offer unnecessary critique" to include "don't tell them when their work or taste is racist" because that is so obviously removed from regular criticism.
Like, if you were at a community theater talent show and one of 13 year olds is pitchy, you might make a snide comment to someone you came with but you wouldn't go up to that 13 year old and tell her her singing was shit and offer notes, because that's just being a dick.
If one of those kids came up in Black face and started singing Zipedy Do Dah Day, that's a completely different situation and you would be completely justified in talking to the director and that kid's parents because what the actual hell.
Fandom etiquette is predicated on the idea that we're all here to have fun and express ourselves and we don't want to do anything that'll hinder that. It is hard for fans of color to have fun and express ourselves if the community is being racist, so voicing that isn't a breach of fandom etiquette. If anything the other person breached it first.
I canβt believe a bunch of men were like βactually, women have it easier when it comes to mental health because everyone already assumes you are weak, irrational, crazy, and stupid π₯Ίβ and a significant amount of feminists were like oh shit good point
this is actually a super interesting take on mental health relating to gender.
its easier for women to get diagnosed with things like depression because women are allowed to be more emotionally expressive in society. men have higher suicide rates because it is harder for them to reach out. people take this as proof that menβs mental health issues are worse than womenβs.
however, men are diagnosed with other mental illnesses and disabilities, like autism and ADHD, much more and much earlier than women are. there are a lot of reasons why this happens. mostly it is because our current world is centered on men. yes, society is improving in gender equality. but do most people know the symptoms of a heart attack in a biologically female body? I know I donβt, and iβm afab.
iβm going to specifically talk about ADHD because I was recently diagnosed. itβs easier to see male symptoms of ADHD because weβre taught to look out for them. we also care more if our sons are struggling than our daughters. the symptoms do show up earlier and louder, because boys are allowed to take up more space socially. i was a hyperactive kid. iβve had focus issues for as long as i can remember. yet it took until i was nearly 18 to diagnose me with adhd, because i had good grades and no obvious symptoms. iβd been mocked when i tried to express that something was wrong in my brain.
i cannot speak for transgender or nonbinary people, since iβm a cisgender woman. I do know that cis men and cis women have a lot of inequalities when it comes to mental health. instead of comparing, we should try to bridge the gaps and find ways to treat mental illnesses in people of all genders.
Iβve gotten a lot of similar replies on this post so Iβm replying to one:
Women arenβt βallowed to be more emotionally expressive than menβ. Women are expected to silence every negative feeling they have in a constant attempt to please others. They are discouraged from expressing anger or asserting themselves or even setting boundaries.
When men express their emotional reality they are more likely than women to be perceived as objective, rational, truthful, and sane. The perception of women as βmore emotionalβ has only ever been used to rationalize misogyny. Itβs been the purported reason for denying women the right to vote. Itβs enabled centuries of medical abuse because womenβs reporting of physical symptoms is always doubted. Itβs been used to deny womenβs claims of sexual assault and abuse at the hands of others in their communities. And finally, itβs been foundational in the psychiatric abuse of women (example: the diagnosis and treatment of βhysteriaβ).
If men are afraid of being called βwomanβ (or an epithet associated with womanhood or femininity) as an insult, this dynamic harms women first and foremost. Period. When men insult other men in this way they are using βwomanβ as a synonym for the offensive adjectives I listed in my original post. When someone calls them woman-like they may feel humiliated in the moment but the fact that my gender is used as an insult is something that affects me all of the time. Also, you cant chastise me βnot to compareβ when you open your reply with a comparison between what is βallowedβ for men vs women.
Btw- women attempt suicide more than twice as frequently as men; men die of suicide attempts more frequently because they are more likely to use more βviolentβ methods (for example, they are more likely to have access to firearms).
Btw #2- youβre right; they are many more factors than gender that affect diagnosis and treatment of mental illness but I am criticizing recent rhetoric that often exclusively compares gender disparities
Btw- women attempt suicide more than twice as frequently as men; men die of suicide attempts more frequently because they are more likely to use more βviolentβ methods (for example, they are more likely to have access to firearms).
Extremely crucial point. In high school I had a health teacher say men commit suicide more often but women attempt more. He said βdo you know why?β then pointed to a random boy in the classroom and said βhow do you think most people commit suicide, what method do they use?β and the boy responded probably a gun. He pointed to a random girl in the room and asked her the same question and she said βidk probably pills or slitting their wristsβ and he said βthatβs why men effectively commit suicide more, but women attempt more than twice as often.β He went on to say he does this with every class every year and itβs always the same. A boy will always say a more brutal and violent (but more effective and immediate) method like a gun or jumping in front of a train, while a girl will always say a more βpassiveβ method like pills or slitting her wrists, which mean she has more time to be found by a friend or family member and taken to a hospital, or more time to regret and rethink her decision and call 911 herself.
Iβve read somewhere someone making points that women are so socialized to care about their physical appearance at all times, and also socialized to care about and be courteous to others that itβs even factored in (even if subconsciously) in the methods they use to commit or attempt suicide. Women are more likely to use methods that will preserve her face and keep her looking βniceβ even after she dies, and are also more likely to pick a method that doesnβt leave as much of a mess so their loved ones donβt have to clean brain matter off the wall or something to that effect. So sheβll be more likely to pick a method that keeps her face βprettyβ and in tact, and not something too messy so her parents or partner or children or whoever doesnβt have to clean too much while in mourning, so pills or wrists it is (and if itβs wrists typically in a bathtub or shower so itβs easier for her family to clean up later.) And again, this gives her loved ones time to find her and rush her to a hospital, or it gives her time to feel regret over this decision and call 911 herself.
Meanwhile men are socialized to be more violent and aggressive, and this is reflected in the methods they typically choose for suicide. Men are also much more likely to own or have access to firearms or explosives than women.
Iβm not by any means saying male suicide victims and men with depression donβt matter or donβt suffer. But Iβm so tired of seeing the βactually men commit suicide more than womenβ as a gotcha to try to shut up women who complain about how hard it is to live as a woman and how hard it is to have their mental health taken seriously and not be dismissed as a typical shrill hysterical overemotional woman. Women attempt suicide more than twice as often as men
Thatβs not a small number. Itβs significant that womenβs attempts at suicide are more than double the attempts men make and thatβs factoring in both menβs successful and unsuccessful attempts. Before you use the βactually men commit suicide more than womenβ gotcha remember men only successfully commit suicide more but their numbers are still dwarfed by how much women attempt suicide.
I also think itβs infantilizing to say βwell women attempt more because theyβre not as serious and donβt mean it but men suffer more and are more serious about their depression which is why their attempts are more successful.β Thatβs demeaning to suicidal women, thatβs demeaning to the state of womenβs mental health, thatβs infantilizing women and our mental health and our depression to just say βoh youβre just not as serious as men and only making a cry for helpβ
As I always add to these posts, the mental illness with the highest mortality rate is anorexia, which disproportionately affects women.
What are the symptoms of a heart attack in women? The American Heart Association explains how signs of a heart attack in women may be differ
I know the original post and most follow-up comments are about mental health, but since heart attack symptoms did come up, hereβs quick run-through of womenβs heart attack symptoms.
in 2026 letβs start actually noticing and taking seriously the true scale and impact of jkrs transmisogyny and how sheβs been funneling decades of royalties and ip owner cash directly into anti trans lobbying thats been making the uk hell while gradually worsening conditions elsewhere through impacting the zeitgeist
Also, while just transphobia alone should already be enough for you to care, don't for a second think that she's only doing harm to trans people. She is actively contributing to the general movement of the western society to the right. She is actively supporting groups who champion racism, misogyny and ableism. She's played a not-insignificant part in the UK politics being overtaken by the far right. Even if you are a piece of shit and agree with her on transphobia ask yourself this - do you really care about hurting trans people so much you are okay with sacrificing all your rights on the altar of transphobia?

Saw several people angrily responding to this one & all I can say is sheβs 100% right
thinking about the time a former housemate said to me "hey I put these box fans in the living room because it's hot" while gesturing to the fans that I was actively sitting in front of because it was hot. and I said "okay thanks." and she kept standing there like she was waiting for something else so I said "am I blocking the airflow? do you need me to move?" and she said no I'm just letting you know they're here, in the living room, for circulation. and I said well yes, I did put that together. I am enjoying them. thank you. and she looked confused. so I asked "am I meant to do something with this information or are you just informing me?" and she said no I'm letting you know they're here because It's Hot In Here. she seemed a bit aggravated, and her emphasis seemed deliberate.
it took me asking three more times before she finally told me she wanted me to leave the fans where they are instead of moving them to my room or something. and I said oh! I had no intention of doing so but thank you for letting me know what the expectation is.
about a month later she brought up that conversation as the moment it actually clicked for her that I Am Autistic And Will Not Magically Intuit The Unspoken Request You Didn't Ask Me.
I have observed enough allistic communication to know that generally, if somebody points something out to you that you can already see or are already clearly interacting with, they are making an indirect request. but as I don't know what the request is, the only way forward is for me to guess (and likely get it wrong), or prompt the allistic to tell me clearly what they need.
however, allistics don't realize they do this, so asking them to say the unspoken surprises and confuses them. this is not their fault. allistics can be quite emotionally fragile and perceive directness as confrontation, so they habitually rely on indirect speech and coded language to preserve others' feelings. this is why they may find it difficult to be direct, even when asked. I have found that with enough gentle encouragement and reassurance that they are actually helping you, you too can achieve successful communication with your allistic friend or loved one. :)
