Why does this look familiar ?
‘ Remember I am thy creature; I ought to be thy Adam, but truly I am rather thy fallen angel. ’ - Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

I was thinking about how ‘Grinch’ and ‘Scrooge’ are words for people who hate Christmas but aren’t exact synonyms and then this chart happened.
HELP???
Me, on fire, looking at this: haha good one
Damn you’re really having a bad day
Why this is such a wonderful film.
Morticia could forgive Debbie for murdering her parents over them getting her the wrong Barbie doll.
Morticia could forgive Debbie being a black widow serial killer and a greedy, manipulative sociopath.
She could even forgive Debbie trying to kill Fester (meh, the man is practically indestructible, anyway).
But pastels.
Pastels…. what were you thinking, Debbie?
The great tragedy of the movie is Debbie finally found the perfect family for her but was too blind & self-involved to see it. Welcoming, kind, generous, accepting of homicidal tendencies & wealthy. If only she had been capable of loving people, she would have been an Addams to the core.
Poor Debbie.
No, seriously. They didn’t care that she was a serial killer. They didn’t even care that she was trying to kill Fester. (Fester saw it as foreplay anyway, and the man can survive anything.)
Debbie trying to keep Fester away from the rest of the family. That was their only problem.
Otherwise…they were pretty fine with her.
How that movie should have ended:
Addams Family Dinner: Debbie is still trying to kill Fester for his money and slips cyanide into his meal. Fester (again) survives. Morticia points out: “You’ll have to do better next time, Debbie.”
And they *all* laugh, including Debbie.

My friend teaches high school history and allowed his students to do their chapter summaries on their chosen biographies as originally created memes. He said that he had never had kids read so carefully to find the most obscure detail from chapters to make their memes. [pro-tip, for younger middle school/elementary school students, make a folder of popular meme templates, to avoid uncomfortable internet searches}
This reminds me of my class watching the 90s film and when it got to this scene some guy in my class shouted out ‘hoe don’t do it’ and then 5 seconds later -sigh- ‘he did it’.
Shakespeare would have loved this 😔
#honestly i think having students submit one meme per scene/chapter of a reading would get them wayyy more engaged#bc you’re looking to find smth funny in the text#which means youre looking for surprise you’re looking for inconsistency youre looking for contrast#youre doing a critical reading!
