It's never not funny to me that Leon, the most by the books Knight in all of Camelot, hears Merlin say "I need a crossbow to kill the king right now." And his first thought is "Damn Merlin is being funny as hell today" and hands him the best crossbow in the armory.

One of my favorite things about in canon merthur is that Arthur will constantly go “will you shut up Merlin” (or some variation) but when Merlin actually goes quiet, Arthur is instantly like, are you okay? Please chatter my ear off

I fuck so hard with headcanons about Merlin having wild magic. Like in the way that his magic is so tied into nature it’s hard to tell sometimes where it ends and the natural magic of the forest and its creatures begins.

This is all leading me to the fact that in my current WIP Merlin accidentally turns himself into a river for a little bit via immense amount of stress and his stupidly powerful magic.
