Dragon Age: Inquisition question. Does anybody know if Krem has a canon weapons preference or if he has a known specialization? If it’s been stated before I’m having trouble finding it.

Okay so clearly Tumblr is blocking the posts about the #ActiBlizzWalkout cause my reblogs aren't showing up on my dash - anyway don't cross the virtual picket line folks and let's stand up for women and marginalized groups in the gaming workplace.
Avoid these games/companies, thanks
Boycotts work, yall
Keep avoiding these games for the time being, especially the ones that use online services.
Hi 💕 💕
So last month I was accepted into my dream school with a scholarship in creative writing!! Unfortunately, I owe past due tuition at another school that I attended for literally one day years ago. With this debt unpaid, I am not able to receive my transcripts proving my withdrawal from that school which I need in order to register for classes this Fall. On top of that my account has been placed with the Attorney General’s Office of my state.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve raised 300 dollars and I am so grateful. Please keep reblogging and boosting and donate if you can! Every little penny counts! 💕💕

Do you have any regrets?
Absolutely! Thanks for the ask
It truly boggles my mind that people think raising the age of consent will protect young adults.
“I just want young people to be less vulnerable to abuse” – and you think making sex illegal will accomplish that? There are a shitton of real life statistics proving otherwise.
Are you fucking stupid?
This is literally conservative republican pro-lifer propaganda masquerading as logic.
“I just want teenagers to stop getting pregnant” – and you think abstinence-only education will accomplish that? There are a shitton of real life statistics proving otherwise.
“I just think sex work is dangerous” – and you think making sex work illegal will remove the danger? There are a shitton of real life statistics proving otherwise.
.
We all want bad things to stop happening.
There are effective ways to stop bad things from happening:
education - give people all the information they need to make informed decisions
empowerment - give people the legal authority to speak in their own defense and act on their own behalf
resources - give people tools that will minimize risks
infrastructure - give people a support system they can reach out to, and a social safety net
I see more and more so-called progressives arguing that the only way to protect young people is to keep them:
ignorant
voiceless
without means
without access
What the fuck????
You’re not protecting anyone with that.
You’re literally dismantling the protections feminists and queer activists spent decades trying to implement.
.
People are asking - when is a person ready for sex?
This is the wrong question.
Now I’ll be the first to admit that when I was eighteen, I was not ready for sex.
When I was eighteen, I’d never had to earn money. I didn’t know how to drive, in a town where the only way to get anywhere was by driving, so I’d never even gone shopping by myself. When I was eighteen, I’d never taken care of a pet, or even a plant. I’d hardly spent any time at all unsupervised. I’d never gone on a date. I’d never kissed anyone.
So of course, I wasn’t ready for sex. Not because I was 18, but because I was sheltered.
I understood that my experiences were not universal, that not everyone my age was at the same maturity level as me, because not everyone my age was as sheltered as me.
Here’s the thing. I didn’t need anybody to tell me I was sheltered. I had the mental capacity to figure that out myself. I didn’t need anybody to tell me I wasn’t ready for sex. I had the mental capacity to figure that out for myself.
.
That’s the actual issue here.
Not whether or not an 18 year old is ready to have sex, but whether an 18 year old is capable of determining their own readiness.
.
An 18 year old has the mental capacity to perform a job, and take home a paycheck, and pay bills. An 18 year old has the mental capacity to choose a career path, and take care of a pet, and do their own shopping. An 18 year old has the mental capacity to vote for political leaders and for legislation.
Nobody seriously questions whether or not an 18 year old is capable of these things.
Nobody questions whether an 18 year old is mature enough to work a register at starbucks. Nobody questions whether an 18 year old is mature enough to have a bank account or do taxes. Nobody questions whether an 18 year old is mature enough to drive a car or make dental appointments or vote.
But people still try to argue that an 18 year old isn’t old enough to have bodily autonomy.
.
Y’all need to stop drinking the purity koolaid.
It makes me physically sick to see fellow leftist people uncritically fall into this trap.
They sound exactly like Pat Robertson. They sound exactly like Tipper Gore. They are parroting ultraconservative talking points and they seem to have no idea— or they’re covertly doing it on purpose to try to brainwash the people who have no idea.
I grew up listening to Bill O'Reilly once a week in my aunt’s car while she drove me to a class. None of this is stuff I haven’t heard from an ultraconservative homophobe. None of it.
I grew up during the Bush years. They also sound like every Republican ever after 9/11 whenever they talk about how to deal with Bad People, and that scares the shit out of me because it’s the first clear memory I have of realizing how ignorant and dangerous that attitude is. It’s a large part of what got us here.
and it’s not anyone’s business what someone’s trauma is, and nobody should have to pull a survivor card (or any “as a [category], my opinion is [thing]”) in order to get people to listen to them.
But as an illustrative example, I figured out after less than a year that I was being sexually abused by someone outside of my family, because my parents’ approach to sex ed was “knowledge is power”. I knew what sexual abuse looked like. I could tell it was happening to me. I vividly remember printing out a checklist, circling most of the items and my mother crying.
I’m still extremely fucked up from this and I don’t even want to think about how much worse it would have been if I had gone into it blind.
Abstinence Only is a conservative, right-wing view. Denying young people vital knowledge puts them at risk for the very abuse these people are supposedly trying to protect them from.
Anyway, that’s my TMI rant for the day
Everyone is reblogging the unedited version of my original post, so I just want to point out that I changed “without access” to “isolated” because I wanted to make a point that it’s lack of access to *other people in their community* specifically that engenders abuse. The first thing abusers do to control their victims is try to cut them off from their relationships to friends and to their larger community.
There was a big “Stranger Danger” panic in the 1990s. People were terrified of child predators kidnapping/abusing their children. They thought that the best way to protect children was to keep them isolated, and teach them not to trust anyone who wasn’t family or a respected caretaker like a teacher or a coach or a priest.
Of course anyone who knows anything about child abuse knows that the worst perpetrators are almost always people in the inner circle – trusted family members or trusted teachers/coaches/priests.
So isolating children and telling them to never reach out to adults they don’t already know actually results in kids having nobody to reach out to when they get abused by the adults in their inner circle.
TL&DR
Abuse is the result of one person having way too much power over another. That means abuse is an authoritarian problem. Authoritarian problems require democratic solutions. Exerting even more control over the vulnerable party won’t keep them safe. What the vulnerable party needs is empowerment.
I hope y’all understand the racism apparent here and how black women are being expected to conform to the standards of white womanhood in order to be actually classified as women
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Shrimp Colors Are a Lie
Well, lie is a bit of a strong word, but scientists have known since 2014 that those special colors that mantis shrimp can see actually Aren’t A Thing.
Mantis shrimp (which aren’t a shrimp but a “stomatopod” which are more closely related to krill) have 12 types of color receptors in their eyes compared to our measly 3 receptors. We used to think this meant they could see a whole range of dazzling colors beyond our comprehension.
Some people were (rightfully) jealous.
However, it turns out that mantis shrimp probably have so many color receptors because they don’t blend colors the way we do. When you look at something purple, your red and blue receptors are strongly stimulated while your green receptors are not and your brain synthesizes this information into purple. When a mantis shrimp looks at something purple, they have a specific purple receptor that is stimulated.
Why this weird system? Probably because it is faster and more efficient. Mantis shrimp need to distinguish between prey species and react extremely quickly (some species can punch 50x faster than the blink of an eye), so they don’t have time to do the mental calculations to blend colors.
Not only is the Forbidden Shrimp Color Knowledge a sham, but mantis shrimp can actually see fewer colors than we can because they can’t distinguish as many shades between colors. They also can’t see those cursed Imaginary Colors.
