the saint patron of dirt under your fingernails by sonorousangels (anna/mary, 544, T) -- there's a house in lawrence kansas, and inside a woman named mary, and outside anna is watching her. incredibly poetic and atmospheric

the righteous woman (and the fallen angel) by anonymous (anna/jo, 947, G) -- what if. what if 4x01 lazarus rising but with jo dying and anna raising her from hell. this fic is the perfect example of why i will forever die on the hill of short fic

lonely for words unspoken by dirtybackroad (ellen/mary, 959, T) -- mary visits ellen before going home to her husband and kids after a hunt. they drink and they talk. there are things they can never have, some they can

lost and found by @roublardise (bela/meg, 1.4k, T) -- bela becomes a demon but her vessels are all wrong. meg is there to help her find the right one. also works perfectly as a demon!bela study

faith undone by @supersapphical (anna/layla, 9k, E) -- layla is slowly but inexorably dying, that is until one angel comes to answer her prayers. truly a staple of sapphicnatural fics. top-tier characterization for both anna and layla, lovely prose, it will change your life .

hunter's daughter by dirtybackroad (mary, 264, G) -- very short and interesting exploration of kid!mary, what it means to be the daughter of a hunter, what it means to be a girl. some really banger lines if you ask me

without mythologies by bellatemple (anna, 3.5k, T) -- really fascinating anna study with some anna/ruby between the lines. it deals with her life as a person and as an angel while reflecting on her relationship with humanity. really good interactions between the characters

remember that summer? by halfweeze (dean&eileen, 3.5k, G) -- not sapphic but it's hands down one of the best eileen characterization i've ever read. explores her and dean's past during stanford!era. very delicate and thoughtful hoh!natural content

jo daily by @mrcowboydeanwinchester (jo, 37k, T) -- a beautiful exploration of jo's life as told through her blog entries from '05. the sapphicnatural fic that completely changed the trajectory of my life. did i mention there's also some jo/cassie .

fil rose (jo, 1.3k, M) -- four stills from various moments of jo's life, connected by a thread

you need to be careful (eileen, 1.3k, M) -- when you're twenty on a hunt but you pick up a scent and everything changes. jo&eileen meet during a case

sea life, kansas city (mary, 1.1k, T) -- a 29-year-old mother confession to her 37-year-old-son. not sapphic per se, but i wrote it as a sort of mary study on motherhood so i guess it fits here

aviary by omegavers (abbadon/colette, 967, E) -- another pairing that you don't know you need until you read it. peak toxic femslash. the abbadon/colette dynamic that will probably blow your mind

shine a quiet light by nonisland (bela/sarah, 1.4k, M) -- stunning piece of writing about bela and sarah's relationship, and hands down one of my fav fics ever. I personally recommend this if you are not particularly interested in rarepairs, because it may change your whole perspective on them forever

we'll find our own way home somehow by nonisland (anna&bela, 2k, T) to be fair, this is not technically femslash, but i guess nothing is stopping you from reading it as such? anyways. so many beautiful turns of sentences! I'll just leave this here as a little preview (since i don't want to give too much away): 'I want to—I can’t save you. I want to give you the chance to save yourself.'

in the bar, offscreen by ThymeAtlas (Jessica&Lisa, 544, G) -- two women brought to life by the pen of a terrible writer are aware of their roles in the story. they meet at a bar somewhere offscreen and talk about it. or rather, try to

tips for women on the run by waitfortheclick (mary, 706, T) -- john dies, mary lives. what would change and what wouldn't. this one is for all the mary appreciators out there who do not buy into the 'perfect mother' narrative. shortfic, non-linear narrative, everything i could've asked for

dream girl by @magpiewithinternetaccess (jo, 847, T) -- i cannot begin to express how visceral this is. poetry more than prose, you are thrown headfirst into jo's inner world without a warning, where reality bleeds into dream and vice versa. i've genuinely lost count of how many times i've read this

dean, 40, tired: i just want someone to go to bed with and cas would do it if i asked. he would sleep next to me and he would be all warm and solid. and he could stay on his side i could stay on mine. we wouldn’t even have to touch but at least he would be there. maybe the sheets would smell like him a little bit. maybe when i wake up at 2am he would say my name. and i would stay. maybe i would even fall back asleep.

it is about the fact that he knows that cas would say yes. cas wouldn’t deny dean the simple comfort of just being there and it would be weird, yes, but dean at this point doesn’t care. he’s getting old. they’re not playing house, they are a house. and there’s no one to perform for in the shadowy windowless bunker cells they call bedrooms. they all take comfort where they can get it and his co-parent in their messed up imperfect little family is his best friend and it is not as if he would chose anybody else to sleep next to for the rest of his life. it could only be cas.

if gay marriage became legal in 2018 when season 14 dean was walking around in the world. he would have gruffly asked cas if he wanted to get married. 2015 dean is not in a place to do this because it's season 11 his boyfriend is literally possessed by satan and they aren't coparenting yet they're just buddies who are in love with each other and not talking about it. but in 2018? raising a baby? crucially everything else about s14 is still the same there is no huge swing in the plot that focuses on their romance there is no offscreen development of their relationship romantically. they are existing in the world as s14 dean and cas. everything is exactly the same. it would be like if the first 15 episodes happened and then after lebanon dean goes. whats with all the rainbows. sam voice. do you not read the news. gay marriage was just legalized. dean voice huh. [slaps his knee] well. cmon cas we better get a move on if we're gonna get this done.
