Rewatching Doctor Who and I just reached twelve….And since this was a re-watch THIS time I caught Madame Vastra saying something in Peter’s first episode, Deep Breath, that seemed to me to resonate with MEANING for those people who came into Doctor Who with the younger men and then dropped out of Doctor Who because a 50 year old graying, lined man took Matt Smith’s place:

VASTRA: I wear a veil to keep from view what many are pleased to call my disfigurement. I do not wear it as a courtesy to such people, but as a judgment on the quality of their hearts. CLARA: Are you judging me? VASTRA: The Doctor regenerated in your presence. The young man disappeared, the veil lifted. He trusted you. Are you judging him?

Everyone who ever found themselves liking Doctor Who really should WATCH Capaldi’s run.
