Workers of the World, Unite!
The only thing I heard coming up was the American dream. You could make it, if you pull yourself up by the bootstraps. I heard that my entire life—until we started being successful. Then it was like: You’re selling out because you’re making money. People had this allure for the “struggling artist”—that’s a mind game, what we would call, back in the day, “tricknology.” I’m not going for that. I make art first and then I make sure that I’m compensated for my art. I didn’t get here by taking advantage of people or taking advantage of the loopholes in the system, or some wrinkle in a capitalist structure. That structure exists; I just see the world for what it is, not for what I want it to be. I’m a realist. It’s not idealistic.

These images perfectly capture the greatness and the flawed delivery of Ultimate Spider-Man. It was an incredible run, and I don't actually know where the Ultimate Universe is going right now with Marvel. DC just totally messed up the potential of their Absolute Universe, but Marvel's had more success with these experiments in the past. If they keep these characters around, do something with them, I'll be interested. But if not, it works great as a contained story. However, no shots at any artist, I certainly can't draw for my life. But. Marco Checchetoo was GOAT'd on this run. The other art cannot hold a candle to the perfection that is his pencils.
Tom King's Wonder Woman continues to be the singular best comic book out right now.
Ramos on art and North on writing has been superb. The science is always great, but the way Ryan comes up with these novel ways for all of them to show their powers is incredible. Fantastic, even.
I’ve never been one to wear my faith on my sleeve, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important to me. Quite the opposite: My faith has sustained me, informed me, saved me, chided me, and challenged me. I don’t know who I would be or where I would have ended up without it.

Some thoughts on attempts to create gold out of nothing, and how generative AI, in many ways, mirrors that doomed pursuit
