Tfw you'd always daydream the same exact scenario to that one song you really like, but as time goes on the scene starts to become irrelevant/no longer canon in your paracosm so now you're like what am I supposed to do? on the one hand this is a joke post because lol i have never made a good post in my life, but also, if i hadn’t made the connection between this update and my sudden nosedive in activity, i would have been really fucking discouraged about all the shit i’ve been working on lately. i guarantee there are people on tumblr right now who haven’t made that connection, and who are trying to figure out why suddenly no one likes anything they’ve made. and that fucking sucks.
Reminder to go into your settings and turn off ‘Best Stuff First’ because my activity’s tanked a couple days ago for no reason so this stuff IS happening.
You WILL miss content with that setting on.

We interrupt your regularly-scheduled sci-fi content because this is important for app users, and it sucks. We all follow blogs because we want to see their content, not to have a crappy algorithm decide what’s best.
This blog is down approximately 80%, which doesn’t affect me other than as an annoyance (as this is a hobby and @okayto is small-ish) but the issue undoubtedly hurts others.

I know for a fact mind readers aren't a thing, but as soon as I'm in a room with other people I am so damn paranoid that a mind reader is going to see my daydreams. I get panic attacks over it. And I know I'm not the only one
We joke about it on here but I don't think we actually realise how bad it is that we've convinced ourselves that other people can see into our daydreams, even if logically we know that isn't true
This is so true omg. I literally get so much anxiety in public because of this. It's nowhere near logical, but the idea that there could be a mind reader out there somewhere creeps around my brain ugh

INTJ. You have to keep in mind though, that MBTI types aren’t always accurate.
Maladaptive daydreaming messes up yourself sometimes. Like today, while trying to cheer myself up, I said ‘Come on, I’m [para’s name]!’ and actually cheered up before remembering that I don’t share the same name as my para.
One thing I’ve noticed (including me) on mostly every Maladaptive Daydreaming blog. NONE OF US SHOW OUR FACES! Like I would never post a selfie of me because god forbid someone I know sees it.. Anybody else feel me or no?

Being abused at home, bullied at school and lost in the world, the library and all the books I could escape to the most amazing worlds, kept me alive!
I would walk to the library, and spend all day, from 10 am to 9 pm reading there!! I got special awards for how many books I read, I wrote little blurbs on why i loved the books (probably why I love to BETA and do ARCs)

As a 50 year old woman, the library offers me so much. Digital art pads to borrow, 3D printing, book clubs that are face to face (yeah, the introvert likes face to face because a moderator will stomp on anyone getting snarky)
New books in LARGE PRINT! I’m visually challenged and as much as I love my kindle, The feel of a real book in my hands will always be a beloved feeling!
Our library also has quarterly books sales of almost free books!! For 5$USD we get in a day early and can buy as many as we want. Anyone else has to wait and there is a limit for the first 2 days.
Also many, many libraries have inter library loan(it may be called something different). This means if they don’t have the item you want, they can get it for you. This may include photocopy/pdf of articles. This can also include along with books and DVDs, microfilm/fiche which is also a huge resource. Check around for libraries that are listed as depositories if you want to look at government documents.
Remember that many colleges and universities have open stacks for the public. You will likely have to pay a membership fee but you will get to stuff.
My library is a tiny town. For some reason it has a film studio space with lights and mics and a little editing booth setup for voice overs, and a green screen.
It also has a room dedicated to a fleet of 3D printers, a laser etcher, and a laser wood CUTTER.
Plus FREE classes to learn how to use all that equipment!

I’m trying because my paracosm is supposedly a magical version of this world, but it’s really hard and absolutely messing up the timeline (how is my time-travelling assasin and his friends supposed to defeat the bounty hunters chasing him when there’s a pandemic going?)
i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls
Never don’t reblog this. There are so many people who have such bad anxiety about phone calls. This can save so many lives
