'The Blood' in my Bloodymary fic 'Leftover Light' that I tried to scientifically explain because I thought Grace would definitely try to figure the freaky mutating blood out.

Am I the only one who gets happy for other ships just bc I know how giddy I’d be if it were mine? Like for One Piece my main ship is Zosan, but then I see a moment in the anime or opla where I’m like “aww sanami shippers are gonna love that” or “zolu fans just got a shit ton of fic material good for them” or “that was a great sanuso moment” and it makes me smile
idk it’s like fan-ship camaraderie
fan-shipmates if you will

I really love the inclusion of Roger’s son being mentioned so early, as it leans heavily into LUFFY being his son (we’re seeing this with the intentional comparisons between Luffy and Roger). Just a beautiful red herring set up, makes me really believe the live action wants to end at marineford.

There’s one thing I’m absolutely loving this season, and that’s that we all know Zoro is a really serious guy—a guy who seems super cool and totally unbothered—but he’s just as dumb as the rest of his crew. I mean, he’s a total airhead, just like all the Straw Hats.
So there’s this thing I really lik in n this second season, there are a bunch of gags with him where Mackenyu is all serious, puffing himself up, doing his peak “tough guy” thing and then he drops some huge nonsense in the most serious way possible. And of course, I lose it because it’s literally the essence of Zoro. I mean, Zoro is like that. He’s a complete idiot and says stuff like that with the utmost seriousness, totally convinced there’s no other option. It’s just perfect. Honestly, I think they’re capturing his essence better this season than the last, and I’m loving that.
I think it’s absurd to have to remind people that this is an adaptation of a manga that’s been running for over 25 years with more than 1,000 chapters. With all the information they already have and everything that’s been revealed in the story, it’s completely normal for them to compress things, move certain information forward, or introduce it earlier, because it makes narrative sense in an audiovisual format.
It wouldn’t make sense to wait that long to start showing the first hints of the Revolutionary Army or characters like Bartolomeo, or to avoid planting seeds about things like Laugh Valley, because these are crucial elements for the core plot of the story. And a TV series isn’t a manga or an anime that can run for a thousand episodes, it’s a different format with a different narrative style.
The people complaining about this clearly have no idea how these things work. We can talk about obvious flaws like the pacing sometimes, or details that are relevant for certain characters (like emphasizing why Zoro is triggered by Tashigi), but setting up certain important plot points for future seasons is a logical and smart decision.
And honestly, I can’t stand the manga-purist dudebros who clearly can’t tell the difference between a TV adaptation and a straight-up copy of the anime. Guys, this isn’t a copy of the anime, and it can’t be one for obvious narrative reasons, so please stop whining about it.
