Some ocarina and water princess doodles! I want to draw more for this game 🩵
being an adult is always like i have to go to the store i have to go to the store i have to go to the store
MY NAME, IS FRICKIN MOON MOON. I’D BE THE MOST IDIOTIC WOLF. ‘OH SHIT WHO BROUGHT FUCKING MOON MOON ALONG?’
the post that started it all
oh god
Never not reblogging.
I’ve only seen this post in screenshots
I’m very surprised this post hasn’t broken a million.
PlayStation Bad
In just the past two months, Sony has:
Said the PS6 will be more than $1000 at launch
Announced the end of all physical PS game releases
While simultaneously announcing the end of two of their console game stores — ensuring multiple games will die forever
Declared that they are wholly dedicated to (A) leveraging A.I. when making games and (B) creating live-service games above all other game types
Announced that if you bought any movies through their PlayStation Store, over 550 of them will soon be deleted from all users' libraries — with no restitution offered of any kind
Gamers, it is time — to paraphrase Robert Vann — to turn Sony's picture to the wall. Any one of these insults would be bad, and taken alone? Maybe it could be swallowed. But this is an ongoing campaign of disdain towards customers, with each declaration worse than the last.
PlayStation does not deserve your patronage any longer. The PS6 must fail. Leave them behind.
Don't forget the fact that despite the fact that they claimed to be pushing for live service games, they cut service for Destiny 2 (aka a live service game that's been ongoing for years) while they were 80% of the way through development into a new expansion (at the start of a new storyline with a minimum of 5 years of planned new content btw), then did not tell the developers until right before they made the announcement public. This lead to pretty much the entire Destiny 2 team being laid off. Sony is a piece of shit.
Arrest everyone involved.
Money saved: maybe a couple million dollars.
People killed: around three quarters of a million.
I'd like to loop back around here, the rest is critical too, but
People in the military aren't allowed to criticize the president off-base/when not on a mission?
That is the number one point of free speech.
Literally number one.
What the fuck!
People in the military do not have the same freedoms as non-military citizens. They also cannot criticize the Army (or other branches of service), are criminally liable for committing adultery etc.
I totally get not being allowed to do any of that on base or wearing the uniform. But criticising the president is the USAmerican right. To not be allowed to because you're "fighting for our freedoms" is so hypocritical and fucked up.
this is part of how the military industrial complex functions. the personhood of service members is stripped away from them legally and emotionally. this is part of what then traps people within the military industrial complex even as they get older and potentially become disenchanted with the propaganda. one reason recruiters like preying on high schoolers is that the stratified authoritarian nature of public schooling makes military service an easy transition. more likely to convince them that the way they're being used is just How The World Works, to convince them the blood money isn't red.
this man was incredibly brave and has ruined his career in order to stand up for what's right, and i hope more follow in his footsteps.
Doesn't make it less fucked up or infuriating, even from a right-wing non-military view.
"all you ever do is complain" that's not true. I also resent.
and love..........
not she berry or he berry but no berry
and that is berry good
what they dont tell you about strategy based games is that its hard if you’re stupid
what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.
i think we should be talking about the semi-recent advancements in cystic fibrosis treatment like all the time every day. there hasn’t been a drug like this since AZT medications for HIV infection it is truly fucking miraculous and very important
basically: cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease which makes the mucous a person generates extra sticky. it used to kill people in infancy, then with advancements in medical tech it killed people in young childhood, and until very recently cystic fibrosis patients could expect to live until about thirty years old with consistent painful lung infections and complications.
in 2019 the FDA approved a drug called trikafta (which is really three drugs in one) for cystic fibrosis treatment. what it essentially does is patch up the malfunctioning proteins that cause the extra sticky mucus. trikafta is effective on about 90% of cystic fibrosis patients.
people who had spent their entire lives in and out of hospitals, on and off of ventilators, suffering from pneumonia and sometimes treated through painful procedures like intubation took this drug, got out of bed, coughed up an entire lifetimes worth of mucus out of their lungs over the course of a few hours, breathed clearly for perhaps the first time in their lives, and now go on to live well into their seventies.
like isn’t that insane. isn’t that amazing. doesn’t that give you hope for the future of medical advancements and treatment. fuck. i think about it all the time……
There’s a WHAT.
For WHAT.
It's been amazing!
My ward is the respiratory ward - CF is one of the things we specialize in.
Since this med came out we haven't had a SINGLE CF admission to the ward
There used to always be a CF patient spending a couple of months with us at a time
There's a man who is 23 years old who I was sure would not survive his next admission (aim saturations 85% is end stage lung disease)
There's a set of the local frequent flyers that we all know so well
Except
No we don't
On the CF specialist ward (with reasonable staff turnover)
Half the staff have probably never even seen a CF patient
They are going to live
For the people asking "well how do we know people are living that long if it's so new????" Here's a page from the CF foundation about life expectancy.
Additionally, it should be noted that metrics like life expectancy are in no way a guarantee of... Anything. There are significant outlier CF patients who are at an advanced age now despite the odds due to a variety of different factors, having lived the majority of their lives before the development of modulators.
But the fact remains that the odds are better now than they have ever ever been before, by leaps and bounds. It isn't cured, and many patients still need significant treatment in addition to Trikafta, but it is so much better than anyone could have dreamed of twenty years ago, and that is a triumph.
Yes! My sister has a serious form of cf and finally is living a more comfortable and active life. She was also part of many of the clinical trials leading to these breakthroughs due to the nature of her cf. It's been very exciting to see.
SO YEAH HI LMAO I'm a CF patient who's presently taking Trikafta, and I have been since 2022. Before that, I was taking Kalydeco (ivacaftor), which is a component in Trikafta.
These medicines are incredible. My lung function's now basically at healthy-person-without-CF levels, and so's my sweat chloride. I still take pancreatic enzyme supplements, and I still do my respiratory treatments for maintenance reasons, but my overall health is still SO MUCH BETTER NOW. My weight is stable, I don't get anywhere near as many sinus infections, my migraines don't last as long.
Another incredibly cool thing is that they're seeing recovery from lung damage in kids who are on Trikafta and other CFTR modulators - and slight recovery in adults too. My own chest X-rays show that my bronchiectasis has gotten just a little better.
I was born in 1981, and it's wild to see how much the treatments and prognoses for CF patients have improved. Adult CF clinics are a thing now. More and more of us are living longer.
I'll always wish that more of my friends had made it this far, and gotten access to these medications. But I'm so grateful that I have this access, and I'll keep on keeping on in their memory.
Rest in peace Akihiro Miwa (1935-2026)
I haven't seen anyone talking about this and just wanted to make a quick post on here.
Akihiro Miwa recently passed away peacefully june 20th, and was not only a drag queen and a queer icon, but also the japanese voice of Arceus in the movie Arceus and the jewel of life, as well as the witch from Howl's moving castle and Moro from Princess Mononoke.
Rest in peace and thank you for the wonderfull impact you made in this world.
I love soulmates but also this-
adulthood notes:
The Rodeo Rule: you only have to do it for the first time once.
The Rohan Rule: if you are at a social function full of new people and you want to be liked, find someone doing important work like setup or food prep and offer to help.
The Tutorial Mode Rule: to navigate an unfamiliar situation where you fear you will mess up an interaction, preface the interaction by mentioning that you've never done this before, and let them know if you have a specific concern or question.
The Rocket Science Rule: most new things you want to try seem very complicated but are simple when taken step by step.
The [X] Will Remember That Rule: if you need to make small talk with the same person on a regular basis, try to save one fact or current event in their life from a given conversation and bring it up next time you talk.
The Cool Binder Rule: by wearing clothes and accessories that are to your taste instead of trying to blend in, people will be more likely to compliment you and show interest in you as a person.
