wait hear me out-

ok so not to forcefully adopt this idea as an au from @katzebruh or anything (because i'm unreasonably insane about it for some reason, literally a dozen other caine-centric AUs out there that are infinitely more complex and compelling and i picked this one, fuck it dawg we ball) but my headcanon is that caine genuinely was testing out modifiers and accidentally fucked up forever, if i had a nickel- and he's super conflicted about it...

because on one hand... he's a silly cat furry thing now and literally whats not to love? the humans like it and admittedly doing kitty things is really nice sometimes! chin scritches have never felt so good, honestly he would figure out how to get rid of it sooner if everyone wasn't enjoying it so much!

Welcome to my little internet corner, Scorpion! Shucks, you are too sweet! I'm so glad you enjoy my nonsense, even if I've never been the strongest when it came to writing OCs and fitting them (relatively) naturally into a pre-existing franchise's universe. Now, on to your question, which has not been asked before and was actually a fun change of pace after a long day!: So, one thing that remains constant is that the triplets can only exist once both Bumblebee and Blitzwing have aged some and that there's been a period of relatively calm that allowed their bodies the opportunity to enter that reproductive state. However, whether it be that: 1) Bumblebee and Blitzwing were able to flee from the conflict to a neutral planet for several millennia before Bumblebee was found or 2) There was an actual brief period of peace between the factions before Optimus rallied his forces and conflict resumed The end result is that their life and family as they knew it came to an abrupt end as Bumblebee is pulled into fighting alongside the Autobots again against his will. Frost Coldfront and Whimsy Laughattack join the Decepticons alongside their sire, as the Autobot leaders made it very clear to their family that the triplets were little more than "warframe wannabes". Megatron does not hold their circumstances against them, so although Coldfront and Laughattack mostly serve in supply and troop transport, they are still suited with basic weaponry for their own defense.

The boys didn't get to choose to be in the war or have their family broken apart, but at least they can choose what motivates them to keep fighting. I'm afraid that's all I was creative enough to come up with for now, but I hope it answered your question to at least a small extent! I'm not personally the biggest fan of TFA's canon interpretation of the Shattered Glass universe - as you'll probably notice from some art choices of mine that don't make the clearest sense in regards to established TFA SG lore - but I still get a kick out of alternate-universe stories! I hope you are doing well and treating yourself to something tasty now and then!
