Football (⚽) is the best sport in the world because they don't cut to adverts every five fucking minutes
anime girl gijinka of baseball teams and mariners girl is always sickly and stumbling around and dizzy and her enfeeblement is like cute and moe but you worry about her
I haven't been keeping up with basketball much because I'm just generally burnt out on the sport, but damn it makes it feel like I'm not missing out at all when every other day there's a headline on the espn app about how some team lost and the coach or the players are having a moan about the officials afterwards. those refs don't get paid enough
Can WWE just be women’s wrestling lol
Watching wrestlemania (on a delay so no spoilers but)
Demon Finn match followed by Rhea match. The bisexuals are winning
Go ahead and mark down my super bowl prediction as LA Rams v Jacksonville. Now let's wait a month and see just how wrong I end up lol
With conference title games over now, all that’s left is to await the committee’s final ranking to see who goes to the college football playoff. In the meantime, here’s my predicted field:
Indiana
Ohio State
Georgia
Texas Tech
Oregon
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Miami
Tulane*
James Madison*
First teams out: Alabama, Texas
Indiana at number 1 is a given. As for why Ohio state only falls one spot, it’s because they’re now a one-loss team with that only loss being by 3 points to the top ranked team. No other team can say the same. Georgia and Texas Tech both stay put and get byes to the quarterfinals after comfortable conference title wins. Idle teams Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Oklahoma stay put.
I think Alabama will drop from the top ten after losing badly to Georgia. They’re now a three-loss team. If they made it into the top ten, they’d be the only three-loss team in the playoff, at the expense of either Notre Dame or Miami, both two-loss teams. With Bama dropping though, this saves the committee from having to choose between ND and Miami. Now they both make it in.
Tulane making it in as winners of the American is a given. Duke beating Virginia to win the ACC opens the door for James Madison, winners of the Sun Belt. Duke supporters would argue that they should be in since they’re a “power conference” champion (even though the ACC has looked far from powerful this year), but Duke is 8-5 and unranked going into this weekend, and will probably stay that way. JMU is 12-1 and ranked (#25, and will probably move up). JMU is the better football team. After their commonwealth counterparts stumbled at the last hurdle, JMU deserves that last spot in the playoff. It’s Dukes over Duke for me.
This ranking would leave us with these first round matchups:
James Madison at Oregon - winner to face Texas Tech
Tulane at Ole Miss - winner to face Georgia
Miami at Texas A&M - winner to face Ohio State
Notre Dame at Oklahoma - winner to face Indiana
who is the Toronto baseball warlock
baseball is a horrible game that deprives humans of their optimism and spirit
I’ve kinda dropped off from following wrestling after summerslam just cause brock returning was such a downer. It’s not me boycotting or making a point, I just genuinely lost interest. Combine that with busy irl stuff and keeping up with even aew has been hard
people who don't follow baseball are missing out they don't even know about the mariners etsy witch
Yeah
Please spare a thought for a moment on the gender politics of pro wrestling. It's historically a (white) male-dominated industry and still today that remains true. Sure, the women who perform on-screen have never been featured more prominently. But how many women work backstage in WWE? How many work in the legal department? The creative team? The PR and marketing wings? How many women hold any kind of decision-making sway within WWE?
In truth the fact that Brock Lesnar was brought back to TV should not be all that surprising. And while in the moment I was shocked to see him appear in such a prominent spot, the decision to do so somehow does not shock me at all. The people in charge of WWE were fine with bringing back a person named in a lawsuit against the company, who is alleged to have participated in the sexual exploitation of Janel Grant. They understand their position as a prominent institution of American entertainment, which has never been more obvious given the abundance of rose-tinted tributes to Hulk Hogan and the propaganda images of Triple H shaking hands with Trump. WWE is betting on the ignorance/apathy of their casual fanbase that has ballooned this year due to the Raw on Netflix deal and celebrity involvement, knowing that will carry them. The mixture of the bright American patriotism of their main good guy characters (Cena and Rhodes) and WWE's unwillingness to yield to the moral and sensible concerns for women who are victims of sexual abuse all paints a picture that this is not a company interested in subverting the prevailing political ethos of its times, nor are they interested in empowering or supporting women. This all communicates something very clear to the women who do work for the company. This is Trump's America and WWE will happily be That America's wrestling promotion, where sex abusers should not have to face consequences if they're famous enough. If you're a star they let you do it wrestle
I cannot begin to imagine what Janel Grant might be feeling tonight. God willing she'd gone to bed for the night already and won't know about it till tomorrow. I would be sickened. I hope she's somewhere safe and comfortable and I hope she maintains some degree of peace and steadiness tonight and onward.
There’s an ongoing lawsuit. The whole reason Vince left the company. Brock Lesnar is implicated by name in that same sex abuse ring.
This is just very troubling. The fact that they were okay with bringing him back to TV and in such a prominent way as well. This is bad PR gone awry, and it’s sickening to imagine the disregard for what that man has done.
This is beyond any storytelling or character critique. Putting the fiction of pro wrestling aside, WWE should not be doing this.
