one thing i think a lot of people, especially young people who are now coming into their own, often struggle with is thinking your aesthetic choices have to be liked by a majority in order for them to be considered good-looking and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

people like style, they like a cohesive package, they like it when your aesthetic choices match your personality, even and maybe especially when it’s something they wouldn’t choose for themselves.

and this is so hard to learn because often when you try out something new people will immediately try to stomp that shit out!! and it’s up to you to be like nah actually this goes really hard and i look like myself when i wear this thing this way.
