the last time i fell in love, i felt too much it hurt.
it hurt knowing how much i gave even if they would never have the same feelings for me.
and now i'm scared to fall in love again. even if it also hurts being just a nobody.

Look at these little guys!
so cuuuuuuuuuuute
seeing my friends about to conclude their college lives and therefore a big chapter of their life used to make me feel like i'm being left behind, and that i am a failure because i don't get to do the same with them.
i still do feel this way sometimes, but i acknowledge feeling doubt is normal. now i'm just filled with so much joy to see them finally have their hard work pay off. i know they have had their share of hardships and they survived that, which makes me even prouder of them.
all i could hope is that they can be proud of me going my own path, too.
i'm pretty sure everyone's disappointed of me, and they just say words that make me feel good because they know how bad i can get when they tell me the truth.
can you not lie?
later today i'm supposed to go to an old group's gathering. i wouldn't say i had a bad time with them, but definitely not a good one, either. granted, it was the first of the groups where i found my footing and such. but i can't help but remember how much i felt unvalued when i was still there; how my efforts were never met with the same, nor any gratitude, at all. it felt like my voice was never acknowledged then. maybe it was just in the wrong time. or maybe it was because i was too much. i still am.
i can't say no because what if they think that i'm "different" than them? do i now just go because of the nostalgia of the things that went right?
i know i sound like i'm blowing smoke up my own ass as if i'm someone important. i'm not. i just have conflicting feelings and i have to let it out somehow. and this is the only safe space i know.
what is love of what is then if all that stayed was hurt that weighs more
than the love given whether or not it was taken or if it was seen by those nonchalant or keen
what if the love of what has been then hurts just as much as it is to reminisce
because love and pain are not mutually exclusive; nostalgia and regret can both be present, respective.

My Gender Identity
i identify as gender non-binary.
i have only recently been comfortable enough to say it. it's been a long journey for me trying to figure out my gender identity. but here we are.
it was late 2019 when i first came across the term "gender non-binary", and ever since coming across it, it's been the closest i have ever been to verbalizing how i feel about my gender identity. i was never comfortable being identified as a cisgender gay man, nor as a woman (as it is the norm here to refer to any gay male with a feminine descriptor, and i do not have any want to transition); i just knew that i was more comfortable being "other than".
i know there's still a lot of things that i have to understand about this gender identity. all i can hope for is comfort in what i can label myself, and comfort to the people who have just found their identity, or is still finding their identity.
happy pride.
huh, i almost forgot this existed.
well, if anything, i'm not dead yet.
tons of things have happened since i've been here last.
maybe i'll get around to posting about them when i have the energy.
sorry if i just poofed out of thin air last time. i'll try to be better.
it's those little things that you think don't matter to me, but in fact does so fucking much. it's how you think loud voices and sounds don't startle me, like i don't feel scared. it's those carresses that try so hard to be silent, but silent's the last thing I should be when it happens. it's the snide remarks about my insecurities that you think i don't give a shit for, just because i laugh it off. but you don't know. you don't know how much i curse myself because i don't want others to feel as bad. you don't know how hard i try not to eat at all because i can only see myself as a fat fuck. you don't know how much i hurt myself because it's the only thing i deserve to feel. no love, no friends. only the pain that i should suffer so everyone else won't. but i know that even so, everyone else suffers too. that's their part. this is painstakingly mine. it's getting so hard to keep pretending every waking day. the breakdowns are getting more and more frequent to the point that i can't function properly. why is it that i feel like i lost the people i care about; even if they were never here when i was in my lowest? now, now i'm even lower. now i don't know if i can climb back up. now i'm not entirely sure i want to get up. because no matter how hard i try, it won't change. i'll suffer. they won't. it's a price to pay, for something i'm not entirely sure has value. and maybe, just maybe, in my next suicide note, i'll die for real. what a relief that might be.
i'm back here and i don't know why
i'll be quite off and i don't know if i'd ever be back
will you still be here?

Hello, college grad that actually wrote an award winning paper on this topic! Hereās some knowledge Iād like to share: Thereās actually been studies as to why itās usually white kids, a large conclusion amongst the criminology community is that those that often have more privileged lives (white kids in our societyās case) are less adept to dealing with stress and denial. Whereas minorities and others are more likely to cope and function normally despite stressors because of the constant stressors that come from systematic racism and/or other platforms of more limited priviledge.
TL;DR: Itās usually a white kid because their privilege incacipated their ability to learn how to handle stress/ denial/ whatever without acting out. The less privileged are done used to the bs and thus typically dont turn to extreme measures as coping mechanisms.
EDIT: I had reblogged this and added a link to the paper (which I shouldāve done to begin with,) but itās probably best I just edit my original reblog and add the link (which I also shouldāve just done already.)
Anyway, it can be found fully sourced here.
