I get to be more free as an adult than I ever did as a child and I think more kids need to know that. as a high schooler part of what made my depression so bad was being told over and over again that it was the most carefree time of my life. while I was trapped in an abusive home + amongst bullies at school + in a body that wasn’t right for me. opportunities to be carefree don’t end when you turn 18. you can be more you than ever as an adult and that’s such a gift. I know ‘it can get better’ is an annoying thing to see over and over when you’re as trapped as I was back then. and I know that if you’re still a kid you deserve to be free right this second. but it can and will get better and this is not where life stops being interesting. promise

i think what bothers me about a lot of "girl power" narratives is that they function on the implicit idea on the idea that women can become worthy of respect. and i happen to think that really caring about women means believing they already are worthy of respect. that historical seamstresses and soccer moms and forgotten sisters and sweet polite little girls and someone's weird grandma matter just as much as the warriors and politicians, even if they, personally, never accomplish anything "cool."

Excluding the crucial fact that office jobs pay you an income….if staying home to raise children and do chores and bake bread was really so much easier and more joyful than working in an office on some objective level, why aren’t men doing it? Screaming and holding myself back from being defensive, but CAN PEOPLE SHUT THE FUCK UP?? I LITERALLY JUST WANT TO ENJOY AROMANTIC CONTENT IN EVERY SINGLE WAY THAT I CAN. To me Wednesday is aroace. I am literally an autistic man with narcissistic personality disorder and borderline personality disorder, am a man of colour, and am fucking aromantic asexual!!! It’s sorta ableist and aphobic of you fuckers to constantly say that an ASPD and autistic coded character such as Wednesday Addams who is very aro-coded is a harmful/annoying stereotype!! YES, I AM sick and tired of people constantly saying that characters are aros when they are heartless/emotionless/etc. YES, I am aware it can be harmful and damaging real fast, and usually is. BUT, if you actually watched the fucking SHOW, you can tell Wednesday is NOT that kind of harmful representation and really subverts these harmful tropes so WELL.  ALSO, I am someone who people literally call a fucking alien, robot, etc. or super selfish/inconsiderate/aggressive/manipulative/controlling/etc. Because of ableism and misinterpret my behaviours or witness me expressing symptoms!! People have called me heartless and treated me like I was emotionless due to me being aromantic asexual!! You DON’T THINK I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE THOSE STEREOTYPES PLASTERED ALL OVER FANDOM? I have had people treated me less of a fucking person BECAUSE of my disorders and my sexual and romantic orientation!!! I lack empathy (it fluctuates sure, and can go into hyperempathy, but still), struggle with social cues, struggle with emotions sometimes, etc. I am also aromantic asexual. I fucking exist. I bet so many cluster b’s relate to Wednesday and a lot of us love the idea of her being aromantic asexual. We are NOT yours to erase and pretend that our existences are inherently harmful. This applies to autistic people/people with autism/autistics, as well! Autistic people are allowed to headcanon Wednesday as aroace (more if they are aro themselves). This doubles down if you’re cluster b/have ASPD and autistic, AND you’re also aromantic and/or asexual. WE DESERVE HEALTHY REPRESENTATION TOO! It’s a reminder, I guess, that they’re coming for all of us. The fash and the white supremacists will not make nice distinctions between the queers when they put us up against the wall. There is no gatekeeping, no label-policing, no purity-purging and no assimilation that any of us can do that will save us.
