A little part of something I wrote instead of studying.

Draxum had been pancing around for the past half hour, waiting for the slider to wake up. He tried not to panic, as the turtle's head was out of the water so technically he didn't choke... Right?
He must admit he got into the tiny lake himself to find his vitals.
"You're gonna crave a whole pathway if you keep pancing..." Said a sleepy, sore, voice, echoing around. "I'm sorry I fell asleep... It's comfy here"
"You have a broken arm. How are you even comfy?" Draxum points out.
Yeah, Leo thinks, water is comfy. It let's you float as if you weren't inside your own body. It's the closest to freedom someone could get.
But it also was dangerous... Like fire. Weird comparison, but really... Water and fire, for Leo, weren't that different. Both are needed for survival but can kill you at any time. The taste of freedom they give, a mere consolation of the full extent of their power. Only a taste of real, impossible freedom.
Freedom was a difficult concept for Leo. He feared it, because he didn't understand it. Where does death start and freedom end? Water is freedom, because it lets your soul float away from what pains deeply inside, fire is freedom because it covers ugly, dark fear with passion and lives on it, turning it into more ashes that darken it even more.
But where is the line that keeps that freedom from becoming indomitable?
He refuses to believe there isn't such a line. That freedom is a semiotic movement instead of the binary opposite of death. He refused to believe freedom was a straight lineline, from lesser to greater.
Nevertheless, he's staying inside the lake.
