I was born on my father's ship during a typhoon on 9th June in the year of our Lord 1690. My mother whispered my name, Little Bird, in the language of her people the Anishinenaabe. My father whispered my name, Jackie boy, when he held me.
My mother nearly died birthing me. She had no other child. But Captain Edward Teague had several more. He came and went in our lives, a constant surprise and upheaval. I grew up fishing and boating on the lakes. When I was 12 Captain Teague brought myself and my mother to live in Shipwreck Cove.
It's funny the people who turn pirate. All sorts of people. People with all sorts of skills and occupations. Shipwreck Cove has a school. A proper one. I learned mathematics, reading, astronomy, and Latin. Many folks know of my wild, pirating adventures. I have one more to tell.
In 1732 I had the most mad encounter of my life so far! And my life 's been quite mad! A fella by the name of Mort Rainey gave me a most peculiar stopwatch. Had extra knobs on it. When you set the numbers to a certain year, you'd be taken there.
I happened to be near the West Coast of The Colonies when I tried the Watch and travelled far forward in time. When I rowed ashore from the Pearl, I found a beautiful, sad woman with golden hair. She kissed me, tickled me within an inch of my life, and took me to the mansion she was living in. She invited a few friends to meet me. And we romped through Time, collecting such historical folk such as Lord John Rochester, Sweeney Todd - but we took him back home quick - Inspector Frederick Abberline, Sheldon Sands, and Hector Barbossa. That last one was accidental.
As a result of trying to remedy this accident, we committed crimes. Specifically, the theft of the ship posing as The Black Pearl in the films made about my adventures. A bit of engineering work and both ships were equipped to be fully functional sailing galleons AND with engines! Hector was satisfied with that ship, so now there are, actually, two Captains of...two Black Pearls.
And there you have it! Any questions?
