Sam is the adopted one within the Second family

They're both popular and are considered top students when they were still attending school

They both attend the same college

Sam is considered a player for simultaneously crushing on multiple people at once and courting them at the same time (it always doesn't end well)

Sam's main LI is Qiu while Axel's LI is Tamarack

Sam and Qiu started dating on step 4 (and have been crushing one another in between step 1-2. Sam realized their feelings in between step 3-4)

Axel and Tamarack started dating in step 3 (and have been crushing one another since step 1)

Sam had a crush on M at some point during college (and if it's Marlo, Sam would also have a crush on Cove but wasn't aware about their relationship until later on)

Axel is Filipino but only knows how to speak one of the countries dialects (he wasn't taught tagalog but does understand little. He just can't construct a simple sentence in Tagalog) Sam on the other hand is white

Sam got adopted around 5-6 yrs. old

Both of the siblings are good cooks and would instead sometimes cook meals instead of Opal

Because of Marlo and Sam being fellow extroverts, they got along well

Marlo is skilled in cooking and baking while Melow is practically banned from the kitchen (she almost set a place on fire)

If M ever got married, they'd rather have their last name get taken by their partner (but doesn't mind taking their partners last name instead)

Melow: Cove → Baxter → Derek
