It's so draining living with someone who is constantly up on the cross, constantly aggrieved, just addicted to victimhood. Everything is always about them, it feels like your life is smothered by them, and you really cannot say anything to them without risking them blowing up at you; just a couple of minor examples I can give is when my mom was trying to grade papers one time and she asked my father to stop making so much noise on his phone. His response was like "SCREAMING AND CRYING AND THROWING UP" and he stormed out of the house, ignoring her for the rest of the day. He felt victimized because she *checks notes* was trying to do her job and his jobless ass was making noise on his phone. Then there was a time when she felt his forehead while he was sick, and she said it didn't feel like he had a fever. What did she do wrong? Why did he get angry? Why, because she was daring to imply that He, the Most Special Boy in the Universe, was not experiencing the Worst cold ever and wasn't Suffering the most. My mom would say that whenever he got sick, he'd need to Perform being sick and make himself the center of attention (and he'd post on Facebook about it and whine to all his friends, meaning the whole neighborhood would know about his damn colds)

And these are minor examples, but that's the point: do you know what it feels like when someone drains all the energy in a household and keeps getting mad at you over nothing? And imagine how they act when it's something serious instead. They leave you feeling completely hollowed out and so tired of their shit. The point of this post is: I don't know who needs to hear this, but you really don't have to put up with this shit and have the right to--if it's safe to do so--tell these people to fuck off and cut them out of your life. I know it's controversial to say online, but someone isn't right just because they're hurt, actually; there's a certain kind of person who is constantly aggrieved over absolute nonsense because their ego is so large that they act like they should be treated like royalty (funnily enough, my bff as a kid asked me "why does your dad walk around like he's the king of England???"). You don't have to give in to their warped sense of reality and accept their framing that you did something wrong just because you won't endlessly coddle them and their bullshit, nor do you have to keep shrinking yourself to try to appease them, because if nothing else, it won't work.
