People really do not give a fuck about Arab boys and men's lives. For more than a year now we've seen the constant dehumanization of Palestinian men and how their lives are deemed worthless.
I've been talking for a while now about my friend Mahmoud Jomaa (@mahmoudjumaa1238) and his difficulties fundraising for even a small goal. He has been at it since March and only recently reached his first goal after months of stagnation, but now we're back at a stage where he doesn't get anything for days on end.
And when I open his fundraiser to take a look at the progress and how little support he gets, I can't help thinking about how a french cop who killed a 17 years old Algerian boy was able to fundraise 1.6 million euros in around a week.
A racist cop can become a millionaire by shooting point blank an Arab boy (named Nahel) in little more than a week but Mahmoud can't raise 20k in 7 months to survive a genocide.
Please let that sink in. Do you realize the violence this difference displays? How much villanization and dehumanization we fostered in the Global North to get here? And yes, it's not only the US, Europe has greatly contributed to the current climate of Anti-Arab hate, which in turns facilitate the current escalation of the genocide of Palestinian people.
That's why I can't believe I still have to come on here and ask people to donate to Mahmoud. Yet it makes sense : people just don't give a shit and that's it. They don't care that he already had to evacuate from the North of Gaza because of the constant attacks. They don't care that he is in an area that is currently very dangerous. They don't care that he lost his house, his university, his friends and family members, he is an Arab man. We shouldn't care, we should instead support the cop or the governments killing them right?

Legitimately asking myself if anyone gives a shit anymore? A few months ago it was Mahmoud's uncle, now his best friend, I keep coming on here to post about how his loved ones get killed, how much danger he is and how little support he gets. But nothing changes everytime.
It's been more than 7 months and he only raised 13k. With the amount of times he had to relocate and the inflated prices this is far from enough for him to survive and evacuate to pursue his studies.

You may have heard of Shahed (@shahednhall) - most likely through the recent racist smear campaigns taking stabs at her name in lack of anything concrete to validate their anti-Palestinian hatred.
But did you also know she's a photographer? Did you know she loves baking and fashion?

Did you know she is the primary caretaker of her five younger siblings, the youngest of which is a newborn? Did you know that she loves them more than anything?
Did you know her three sisters are sick with viral hepatitis due to the unsanitary conditions in Gaza?
Because of Shahed's love for them, she found the strength despite her own sickness and malnourishment to walk great distances while she was supposed to be sheltering from bombardment, to find internet access to raise funds to evacuate her sister so that they may seek medical care.
Because of that strength, she was able to raise enough funds for them, but if she doesn't reach the end goal of her campaign as soon as next week, she will be separated from her sisters.
As of this post, she has raised $65,561 out of $80,000. That is barely enough for her siblings and her father, who has a heart disease. That is not enough money for Shahed to go with them!
I implore you to make sure Shahed is not left behind. I implore you to get them out together as a family.

Mohammed and I have been talking, and he's told me how worried he is about his family and how he can't get online every day to promote his fundraiser. I'm worried about him and his loved ones. He has already lost 10 family members, and has been displaced multiple times since October. He's struggling to access food, clean water, and necessary medical treatment.
His campaign has been going since May and he's still under 10% of his goal. His previous blog, @mohiwais, got deleted by tumblr (post about him here), and having to start over on a new blog has only made it harder for him to get the attention and donations he needs. Please don't let him down, let's get some momentum on this fundraiser.
