It had haunted me for years, why don't anyone talk about this ever . . . Him just knowing that Gaster was no father of his since the start, he was created for a purpose, and one he failed at also from the start (he's so weak compared to anyone else in his universe, his magical eye isn't even his, it rejected him, it STILL rejects him).
Do you know you're different, Epic? Being artifically made to ended up as a failure? That your creator had despised you from your beginning to your end? That he killed you by giving you that Eye but also by taking it away? You do, don't you. All too well.

He acts so bright and bubbly and confident that no one knows how much he hates himself. How he blames himself for everything wrong that happens and that he couldâve done better, be better, or if it were anyone else it wouldâve gone well but because it was him it failed.
How Epic thinks he failed everyone heâs ever cared about.
Epictale Chara and Frisk, who died because he couldnât stop Epic!Gaster from using them to get his body back.
His brother, who died because Epic couldnât stop himself from dying.
His best friend, whoâd died and lost his memories and sense of self because Epic couldnât find him in time.
Anytime he cares for someone, they get hurt. Because Epic isnât good enough to protect them, to save them.
When Color tried to help Killer and nearly died. When Delta lost his limbs from pushing himself too hard. When Killer struggled with the same dark thoughts Epic did and fell apart and only Color could help bring him back.
Epic is useless. Everyone would be better off without him.
Itâs what he thinks everytime someone is dear to him and theyâre around. How heâs good for nothing and that his awful father may have been the worst, but he wasnât wrong. Not about Epic.
Epic is always there to try and help his friends when they fall apart. And heâs always alone whenever he crumbles, not wanting to burden his loved ones with a useless mess. Just another problem for them to deal with.
Itâs all heâs good for, after all.
