You know what I love about this scene, besides everything? It perfectly illustrates how their relationship works.

Eliot is the stability; the steady, grounding presence; he’s loyal; he makes things safe. He provides a foundation Hardison and Parker can fall back on without fear.

Hardison is the key; without him it doesn’t work; he’s the one who knows what’s needed of him and plants himself with unwavering trust and patience. Without him, Parker and Eliot can only go so far. Hardison is the one who makes the impossible possible.

Parker is the risk-taker; she needs Hardison and Eliot to guide her and support her but she’s the one they follow. When Parker sees a problem, she tackles it, even if the solution seems strange or scary to others. If she believes in it, she makes it work; “for better or worse”.

@pale-silver-comb I realize that I’m kind of being redundant in adding this, but I have to copy-paste this thing I wrote elsewhere about this exact scene:

“It’s the essence of their relationship given physical expression. If you had to come up with some sort of interpretive dance to depict the nature of the OT3, this would be it. They’re all perfectly balanced, mutually supporting and protecting each other. Take any of them away and this move doesn’t work. Eliot’s the sturdy foundation, there to provide support wherever it’s needed. Hardison needs his moment to freak out (fair), but then he’s there, strong and steady and so in awe of these people he loves, prepared to give them whatever they need to accomplish whatever crazy thing they decide to do. And Parker defies gravity, defies expectations, reaches out to do the impossible because she’s just that good and she knows her boys won’t ever, ever drop her. But also, this is about the most unconventional way to disarm a mine you could possibly imagine. It is so ridiculously extra, and it works for them. I cannot think of a better visual metaphor for their relationship.”

Because can I just say how much I love that it looks like we’re paraphrasing each other here? Like we were both given an essay question saying, “Explain the significance of this scene as a metaphor for the relationship between Parker, Hardison, and Eliot.”

This is why I’ve fallen headfirst into this fandom – the show is so deliberately constructed that it’s practically begging the audience to analyze all the little character moments, and the fans are so thoughtful and enthusiastic in doing so.

Christian was even talking about it in the commentaries- Eliot is literally holding both their weight here. He is supporting Hardison from behind as a brace, and he is the counterweight for Parker when she bends over. This scene literally does not work if Eliot isn’t there for them to rely on.

Also, fun fact, these aren’t stunties. Beth, Aldis, and Christian just did this. (Cue John Rogers screaming in the background.)

I’m pretty much morally obligated to reblog this post every time I see it. Not just an Eliot post but again, he comes in a three-pack and it’s an excellent analysis of the trio.

Specific to Eliot, as noted, he’s the rock for both Parker and Hardison. It’s beautiful.

Whether you read them romantically or not (and BOY HOWDY I DO!!), they’re a very strong grouping. I don’t make the rules.

For those trying to figure out where Clint’s clothes go, his closet is shown in issue #13 “The U in Funeral” when Clint is paged by the Avengers. He seems to have some kind of sliding door Ikea Pax situation. It’s probably straight back on the same wall as the bathroom door.

While we’re at it, we might as well take a look at some other details of Clint’s apartment.

Clint’s Kitchen The walls seem to be tiled, and one on the right cracks halfway through the series. He seems to have a freestanding oven tucked beside the cabinets, with his utensils hung up on a rack under the hood. The island seems to have divided storage on (presumably) both sides. Clint owns at least one pot with a lid, a coffeemaker, a kettle, a knife block (?) and he keeps his plateware in the far left cabinet. Most of his dishes are white, but he does own two purple mugs with Hs on them (which are his favorite.) His wall phone is connected next to his world map/mission board. He appears to only have two barstools, but apparently also wheels over in his office chair when he’s feeling grumpy and tired.

Clint’s World/Mission Map A MASSIVE corkboard with a curtain rod hung above it. (Clint probably rigged this up himself.) Clint changes out what’s on this frequently. Also likely means Clint owns a Polaroid camera (or at least a Polaroid printer.)

Clint’s Living Room (and his Many, Many, MANY Books) I can’t stress enough that Clint has books everywhere in his apartment. He has a bookshelf next to the TV, two more bookshelves on either side of his couch, and yet another bookshelf under the stairs. He also seems to keep books on the shelf above his TV, though any number of these could be CDs or DVDs. He also has a few framed pictures here and there on the shelves. All the bookcases have storage cupboards underneath them.

On the bookcase under the stairs, there seems to be a droopy and sadly neglected plant. There’s also what looks like a propane tank sitting beside the bookcase. Not sure what it’s for since both the grills on the rooftop are charcoal grills (they use the hot coals to fight off the tracksuit draculas at one point.)

Clint seems to have a great TV system, complete with wall-mounted soundbars and a built-in entertainment center with quite a few different consoles. Issue #6 lists them as a cable box, DVD, VHS, and DVR. The other two might be gaming consoles. The DVR actually belongs to Grills who lent it to Clint because it has every episode of Dog Cops on it. He seems to use his side table as a catch-all, for papers, notepads, bottles, bandages, etc. and likely uses the small desk lamp there for reading when it gets dark in the apartment. Lucky’s food bowl is sometimes in front of the bookcase left of the couch, by the floor lamp, though it’s also been seen by the kitchen island.

Clint’s Bathroom Atrocious the one time we see it. Awful colors, broken/missing tiles, cracked walls. Little to no storage because Clint has his toilet paper rolls just stacked next to each other (and no trash can because he leaves the empty rolls on the floor.) At least he has a (pink) toilet brush. And a big purple towel. Of course. Has to send his guests up into his bedroom to use the bathroom because that’s where the door is (which I find amusing tbh).

Dialogue Wheel Overhaul (DWO) completely changes the way the game’s dialogue wheel works to make it more cohesive, universal, and functional.

This mod includes:

Over 180 reorganised dialogue wheels with reconfigured layouts,

Unlocks various exclusive dialogue options and makes them more accessible to in-game limitations and plot flags,

Various dialogue fixes such as fixing dialogue loop issues,

Renamed options to reflect more accurately what the Inquisitor is saying,

All dialogue options are now marked with mood tones similar to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age 2,

Exiting conversations are now clearly marked.

Unlocked dialogue options as a result of in-game conversation are now marked.

When the Nazi concentration camps were liberated by the Allies, it was a time of great jubilation for the tens of thousands of people incarcerated in them. But an often forgotten fact of this time is that prisoners who happened to be wearing the pink triangle (the Nazis’ way of marking and identifying homosexuals) were forced to serve out the rest of their sentence. This was due to a part of German law simply known as “Paragraph 175” which criminalized homosexuality. The law wasn’t repealed until 1969.

I have reblogged this in the past, but it is so ironic that it comes across my dash right now. I a currently working as a docent at my city’s Holocaust Education Center (( I say currently because I’ve also done research and translation for them )) and out current exhibit is one on loan from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum ((USHMM)). This is a little known historical fact that Paragraph 175 was not repealed after the war and those convicted under Nazi laws as a danger to society because they were gay were not released because they had be convicted in a court of law. There was no liberation or justice for them as they weren’t considered criminals, or even victims for that matter. They were criminals who remained persecuted and ostracized and kept on the fringes of society for decades after the war had been won. Paragraph175 wasn’t actually repealed until 1994. And it was only in May 2002, that the German parliament completed legislation to pardon all homosexuals convicted under Paragraph175 during the Nazi era. History has forgotten about these men and women — please educate yourselves so this does not happen again. Remember this history. Remember them.
