Twitter user witchytwitchytv on Nov 08, 2022: Indigenous peoples movements are so easily ignored because acknowledging our existence as living peoples rather than as relics of the past makes settlers uncomfortable. You all prefer to pretend we’re dead & gone so you don’t have to face the genocides you still benefit from. It makes you all uncomfortable to remember the people who were displaced for you to live in your cities, towns, and neighborhood are still alive and still displaced. Acknowledging the fact that we’re still alive and fighting makes you face a story where you’re not the hero.
