Steve: But at the moment, apart from not being bed-friendly, you seem to be getting on really well. And that's something-
(Noel and Liam talk over each other)
Steve: Is it always like that? Is it always on an edge though? ... You're always on that edge.
Liam: What?
Steve: You're always on that edge.
Noel: We're not on an edge! We're on this really, like, big loved-up expedition, right. The pair of us, we're on a big loved-up expedition, and we're gonna go and build two love heart-shaped igloos-
Liam: Really?
Noel: (laughs) -in the South Pole. I'm gonna walk across the icy wastelands-
Liam: Yeah, bollock naked- (unintelligible)
Noel: -with tennis rackets on our expedition!

Introducing: Paul "She Knows" Arthurs
some selections from yesterday's mirror article about liam's live 25 tour habits:
Former Ocean Colour Scene bassist Damon Minchella – who is part of Richard Ashcroft’s band, who supported Oasis each night – revealed the backstage secret. He said: "Me and Rich spoke about it, the way he held it together to get that tour done. No drugs, no booze, not even smoking. He was starting to vape a little bit towards the end of it. You could see it, he had a little tent backstage when Noel is doing his songs in the middle, this little Liam tent, it went from having water in it, to water and a couple of vapes by the end of the tour." ... Appearing on The Oasis Podcast, he claimed: "There’s many reasons for [why Noel and Liam didn't hang out much backstage] but the main one is that they couldn’t get the tour insured because everyone was expecting Noel and Liam to fall out, there was too much riding on it, so I know they decided early doors this is the way it’s going to be. For Liam as well he’s got no off switch so if he’s hanging out backstage he’s just going to be talking, talking, talking and he’s just going to blow his voice out. Liam would arrive literally 10 minutes before they go on stage and then straight off." ... The 56-year-old has been friends with Noel and Liam for over 30 years and he has never seen the Wonderwall songwriter happier in all that time. He told the podcast: "Noel was in catering from 5pm, bear in mind they weren’t on stage until half eight, so there was no reason for him to be in catering with all the crew and with us lot, just chatting. He was just so happy, with what Bonehead has been through with throat cancer and what have you, he was just so happy, obviously Andy, Gem, everyone was just hanging out. Far too many laptops and smartphones, back in the day no one had those things, I suppose that then helps you consume loads of things before a show. I’ve never seen Noel that happy actually, it was lovely."

liam, in response to the oasis podcast shouting out the article for its accuracy and proper sourcing:
Noel only ever heard the vocals in his monitors' mix onstage. For twenty years, just the singer. Only the singer. Not his guitar. Just the vocalist.
Noel: I—I really—I really miss, now, just bein' a guitarist. And kinda just— [offscreen] Wow. I reckon that's— Noel: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And, I used to love it. 'Cause when I—I would—um… I never had my guitar in the monitors. Ever. [offscreen] Really? Noel: Not for—over twenty years. [offscreen]: Even in—on those giant?! Noel: Never had it. I—you—when—a couple of times, when I left tours, and blah blah blah—you know, uh.
Gem would stand in for me. And, uh, he—he called me up once, and he said, 'I've just put your monitor set-up on!' I was like, '…right'. And he went, 'There's nothing in it!'
And I was like, 'No, I know.' And he said, 'Well, there's only vocals in it!'
And I was like, 'Well, yeah.' And he said, 'Well, how do you hear yourself?!' I was like, 'I'm in the gig! I'm on stage—[mimes strumming guitar]—I'm in the gig! I'm not—there's not a separate gig coming out of here [points at speakers].'
I would always stand facing the drummer. I don't need to hear the drums; I don't need to hear the keyboard player; I don't need to hear—I can hear them from the PA, you know, and I would just get—and I would not—I've—I've never heard my guitar—even to this day. I never have my guitar in the mix, ever.
