that time I sprained my ankle at RTX

RTX story time! 

So we changed our of Jaune and Pyrrha costumes for late night shenanigans but I kept my heels on because they looked cute with my outfit. We were drinking in the Marriott with our crew when Miles walked by, and me being me I instantly jumped up to go say hi. 

....and I ate shit, hard. My foot was completely facing the wrong way thanks to my shoes, I bruised down my left side, and my head smacked on the tile. My reaction to this, of course, was to bounce back up and go over to him, which I was able to for a moment before he fled into the elevator to escape the mob of aggressive 13 year olds. They shoved me around a bit because I was in front of them and actually put a few words in talking to him, and it was at this point I realized that I Fucked Up because I couldn’t put any weight on my foot at all. 

 I kept denying something was wrong and went to talk to Adam and Omar from Funhaus who were awesome, but eventually there was a point in the evening where it got to be the size of a golfball and our crew made me sit down and went and got me ice, which is when the adrenaline wore off and it just became ridiculously painful. So I’m sitting there with no shoes on, holding ice to my swollen foot, covered in bruises from the floor, and holding back tears because I still have costumes to wear and two more days in Austin and I’ve just realized I ruined my trip. 

And then Gray walked into the hotel, and my boyfriend goes and tells him the story and he comes over, leaving a bunch of people that had tried to go talk to him, and talks to us about the new RvB and cosplay, and me being really overwhelmed in the moment I just start crying like an idiot. I managed to get a joke in about my “Achilles’ heel” and at least try to keep it together. He was so nice and it was probably my favorite memory of the con. I decided fuck it, I’m cosplaying anyway, and we went and found him the next day too so I could say “hey look this is what I look like when I’m not a giant mess.” 

I toughed in out in Hilda and limped through the TSA line back home, and now that I’m back in my own bed my ankle is wrapped up and I’m on bed rest. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.

RTX for the Beaz and I this year was basically Arkos con. We wore dresses on Friday and he shut it down at the RWBY panel and then we did battle outfits on Saturday. Sunday we did Mogar and Hilda from X-Ray and Vav!
